Just curious, but don't you think all the hurt feelings and general grumbling is a little much? I, for one, don't care how much people stray from the topic of Moxy Fruvous on this newsgroup. I can't guarantee that I'll read every post (in fact, I can pretty much guarantee that I will *not* read every post), but I figure if Fruvous fans find other things in common, so much the better. Also, it appears to me, that this newsgroup has a history of running off-topic a bit whenever the guys go off tour. Why are their no reviews? Well, there weren't any shows :) Nothing to fret over, really. If you are going to encourage the idea of fruheads as a community, then it goes to follow that other things *will* be discussed, particularly when the band isn't making appearances. As for this huge influx of new blood, I think that's *great*. Illustrates an ever-growing fan base. This should be *encouraged* even. If you're new, don't be scared...post. And check out http://www.fruvous.com/news/faq.html for answers to some often asked questions. And everyone, try not to take things so personally. Disagreement is not a personal attack. Did you know I read somewhere the Fruvs don't like to be compared to the Ladies? And you know what? BNL has gotten quite mellow and a tad predictable recently. (I can't be the only one who likes but four songs on "Stunt," I know it.) It seems that the mass public likes this boring fare of alternative, and if Fruvous keeps up their uncategorized brand of musical genius and pure magic called talent, then they'll always be megastars to us who love them. > Number one, you can start by changing their IDIOTIC name: people don't > want > >esoteric band-names > >that people can't decipher: they want names they can grasp and identify > >with. Again, who gives a flying f*** about the "real public"? Fruvous matters to us fans, who find happiness in their music, thrill to watching their unpredictability on stage, and feel priveledged to talking with them after each show. If anything, we are laughing at the public for following their megastars and never knowing what we Fruheads have. If you had anything better to do with your time you might have figured that out by now. Again, I just had to fill in my own thoughts. I do that quite often.... ~Monique _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!? So here's what makes me curious ... if I hated/scorned/pooh-poohed a band as much as he does Moxy, I simply wouldn't have wasted any time on them to start with ... I mean, I don't think I could write such a detailed diatribe on, say, Metallica, for example. It really sounds like, and I don't mean to sound sexist saying this but rather am using an old expression, "a woman scorned." Like someone who once had a relationship but got ditched or something. I think it was Katie who said something about his girlfriend calling out Jian's name in bed ... hey, it works for me ... not calling Jian's name out in bed (that's another thread I won't get started on) but the theory that something personal happened to light a fire under this schmuck's butt. I had to share the Fruvous moment I experienced this morning: You see, at my school, everyone decorates people's lockers on their birthdays, with signs and pictures, etc. So I was walking down the hall this morning and there, on someone's locker, was a big sign that said "Happy Brithday Patricia!" and I all I could think was "I'm in the Michigan Militia..." I tried sharing this with my friends, but they just sort of smiled at me, shook their heads and thought "Poor Lizzie, she just hasn't been quite the same since she started listening to those Canadian people..."
