I usually lurk, but wanted to chat quickly about the Cleveland show-- because I know you're all into that. :) This is however, not a review... since there are several thousand people who do do that. :) This is just a personal release... Ever since I graduated from college, and have gotten a relatively "real" job teaching music... I haven't been able to chase Moxy around the Midwest as I used to, which makes me feel sometimes like less than a fan than some... but the cookie crumbles. So here I am, on the westside of Cleveland, cancelling Band rehearsals to go and see fruvous. Recently I've only been able to see them in Cleveland and Ann Arbor-- and I just need to tell fruheads who care... that it was so great to see them in town. School night or not! :) However, I can't wait until June... when I will hopefully get the opportunity to chase them around the Midwest again... spending my summer with Fruvous! :) Thanks for listening. donna ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 06 Nov 1998 21:47:43 GMT From: Loren Becker Subject: Re: music, mayhem, massage: 10/29-10/31b (DARN long) Colleen Campbell wrote: > >Can I ask why DC and Maryland are considered one entity? > > 'Cause I didn't know which you were from. ;) Calm down, girl. Hey. I just get very defensive. It comes from being told too many times that "white people don't live in D.C." or even "nobody lives _in_ D.C., you must live in either MD or VA." And then there's the politics professor who gave this elaborate example when talking about how Fujimori took control of municipal budgets in Peru and said it was like Clinton taking over control of New York City's budget...as if this was impossible! That did not go over well with the few of us who are actually D.C. voters and know that it is altogether too possible. Okay. I'm done now. I promise, my next post will have at least some fru-content... loren. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Am I the ear that listens or am I the melody? Welp, I *heard* that not *all* the shows in NYC would be 21+, but that's only what I've heard. I can say I'm 99% sure that the set which will actually run through the New Year *will* be 21+. As to the other sets, however, from what I understand there may be a chance that it's under 21. Hey, Dan! Welcome to a.m.m-f! We're a friendly bunch and, although I can't vouch for all, I promise most of us won't bite unless asked :) I'm going to steal Chad's line and make the obligatory pointer towards www.fruvous.com, the official website, where you can find the most up-to-date info on the tour schedule and other happenings. Can I also suggest that the best way to make friends here probably isn't to post the same message three times and with three different titles. We're very responsive and we'd love to help you out but try not to cram it down our throats, 'kay? Okay, 'nuf said. See, guys, there's Fru-content in this one. loren. Other than the fact that she was his holy virgin queen, I see nothing implying extreme youth ... Maybe I'm just developmentally delayed. ;) - -- Lori ------------------------------ End of alt.music.moxy-fruvous digest V1 #974 ********************************************
