LoCicero" Subject: Saturday Ticket Available, but there's a catch... Hello rabid...um I mean avid Fruheads and Frufans! :D I have what may be good news for someone. I am the proud owner of an extra ticket to the SATURDAY Northampton show. The only problem is that what I NEED is an extra ticket to the FRIDAY Northampton show. (Arlo Guthrie voice) Perhaps you know somebody in a similar situation, or you may even BE in a similar situation... so what I am looking for here is someone who can give me a Friday ticket in exchange for my Saturday ticket. Anyone interested please email me privately at cicero@wwnet.com (as opposed to posting followups here) and we'll see what we can do. Thanks! Uh, I think the lyrics are refering more to the panning of a movie by a critic. If a film is panned, it means the critic didn't like it at all. Or is my brain playing tricks on me again... hKatherine - -- "I'll have a smile... to go." -- Topon Das - -----------== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==---------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 06 Oct 1998 16:11:07 GMT From: ceelove@ibm.net (Colleen Campbell) Subject: Re: One song for NoHo? Well, it's been at the Iron Horse that I've heard so many songs I never thought I would--"Oliver's Army," "Misplaced," "Love Set Fire," "Poor Napoleon". . . So for something totally new that I never think I'll hear, I'll vote for "Bittersweet," the swing version of "Laika," or the slow version of "Authors." Or for something I've heard that I miss terribly and would love to hear again, "Cross-Border Shopping." ceecee ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 06 Oct 1998 16:20:55 GMT From: hKatherine@ehmail.com Subject: Re: In between shows In article <19981006065219.25193.00007527@ng117.aol.com>, fruwench@aol.com (FruWench) wrote: > >I suppose I'm going to have to learn to play the thing now. Err... my doumbec didn't even come with instructions. I've just been hitting it. That is, when I don't put flowers in it. We tend to think of Fruvous in terms of them being a fairly small, unknown band. But during the Bargainville Tour era, they got a lot of Canadian national recognition, did a big tour, were playing to many thousands of people. It was completely different from what they'd been doing, busking in front of the Bloor St. Theater, and I get the impression that they didn't care for the abrupt change. Would they undercut their own success? I really doubt it, and I'd be disappointed if they didn't get the recognition they deserve. So I assume that, at some point, they'll have to deal with big crowds again. Hopefully they'll have learned a bit from the last time it happened, so as to keep it from being as unpleasant as possible. As for me, I don't take it for granted that Fruvous knows my name and talk to me after a show. I doubt it'll last forever, that they can give the fans the kind of interaction they give us now, and I do treasure it. I've had four wonderful years of Fruving around, feeling special that the band I love treats me as more than a demographic or a potential consumer of their work, and if that's all I get, that'll be four more than many people are privileged to enjoy. ceecee ------------------------------ End of alt.music.moxy-fruvous digest V1 #736 ********************************************
