There are indeed a number of "Ed Heads" here on ammf, and I'm one of the lucky gang that can call them a local band, since they play weekly at a bar about 10 minutes from my house (at least until December...), in Virginia, not Ohio. As for the shirt - Dave has indeed worn one of their shirts, and you may notice an uncanny resemblance between that shirt and some of the new Fru-gear. Coincidence? I think not. (Mur also wore a Ben Folds shirt for a while, which introduced me to another of my favorite bands.) - -Zard "www.washme.com" - seen on the back window of a filthy station wagon, heading to Owen Sound, ON ------------------------------ Date: 8 Sep 1998 01:30:21 GMT From: gorbitron@aol.com (Gorbitron) Subject: Re: clueless in Noho >Not a followup to the original post, but I like the header so I'm borrowing >it. >Does anybody know how many tickets are still available for both nigths? >Yes, I'm too lazy to dial-up the 800 number and ask myself Not the kind of question they can (or maybe they just won't) answer at 1-800-THE-TICK (not a mailorder number for blue superheroes). The only thing they'll say is that "they are going fast" and "oh yeah it's gonna sell out" So buy yours today! GA is general asmission. No sections...hopefully there will be only seats at the bar. For the last Fruvous shows there, there was a problem for people wanting to dance and then people wanting to sit. It wasn't my favorite show because of that. I just finished listening to the rebroadcast on 'XPN tonight. I was a bit dissapointed with some of the things left off, most notably The Hippie on The Post and Cathy O'Connell's AWESOME introduction ("I LOVE THIS BAND!"), but overall I thought it was a really great selection for the general (non-fruhead) listening audience. A side request - If anyone out there taped the Francis Dunnery set from this broadcast I would love a copy of it - I tried taping it when it was originally broadcast last week but I screwed it up, and got home from the shore tonight too late for the rebroadcast (got to listen to it though while sitting in holiday shore traffic trying to get home) Thanks! Hope everyone had an awesome Labor Day Weekend! - - Sue * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * "Nothing really matters like you think it does anyway" - Francis Dunnery ------------------------------ Date: 8 Sep 1998 02:26:44 GMT From: zardsnod@aol.com (ZardSnod) Subject: Halloween Party post IH... Happy news!! I spoke with the folks at the Iron Horse, and they are happy to say yeP! to the suggestion of renting out the Iron Horse for a couple of hours after the Saturday 10/31 show for Fruheads to gather for a party!! WHEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!! Yip, yip, yippeeeeeeee!!! So, for everyone coming to the show who wants to stay after for a couple of hours, the Iron Horse will be open. There'll be some sort of tickets to purchase, but they said it shouldn't be more than $5 pp, perhaps less. Details will follow later (organization still occurring), but they said they could offer a limited menu and keep the bar open, and most importantly, that means we won't be pushed out, as so often happens after shows (not necessarily the Iron Horse, who's always been nice about it anyways). It'll be open format, so everyone can just chat and mingle, and meet up with all the people that you'll otherwise perhaps only have a chance to see quickly before the show(s). Especially with everyone being scattered far and wide due to the tight hotel situation... I figure, if the show starts at 7pm, as is scheduled, and may happen, since they might still be set up from the night before, and ends around 9pm-ish, then we'll have up til 11:30 or midnight to revel. It'll be all ages, just like the show. The IH folks mentioned a costume contest (that they were going to suggest anyways - more details later, I assume..). So, part of the reason of sending this email is to get an idea of how many people will be able to attend. (I just guesstimated when asking about it theoretically.) Can you send, via email straight to me, your name, if you plan on attending, as well as the names of any people coming with you who you think will come, too? I ask for names so that if your friends send in names too, I don't count you each twice. Thanks for helping me out!! Can't wait to see all of you in Oct!!! - -Zard "www.washme.com" - seen on the back window of a filthy station wagon, heading to Owen Sound, ON ------------------------------ End of alt.music.moxy-fruvous digest V1 #421 ********************************************
