Chris T. and I knew that it was a familiar song, and I knew it was a cover, but wasn't sure by which band. Or Band. :-) I personally like it, but a lot of the younger (under 23-ish) Frufans hadn't heard the original, and found the song rather wanting. I figured that in general, the KoP crowd would know the original, and appreciate it as an ending. That all being well and good, I'm thrilled they came out and did a Drinking Song - it was a great ending, swaying under the stars with friends. - -Zard "Veni, Vidi, Velcro" - I came, I saw, I stuck around. ------------------------------ Date: 4 Aug 1998 03:39:48 GMT From: aditu525@aol.com (Aditu525) Subject: Directions n stuff I am driving up to the "Taste of Danforth" show on sunday and just have a few questions. First off, does anyone know what time Fru will be performing, or is "late afternoon" as close in Fru-time as it going to get. Secondly, would anyone be so kind as to tell me how to get to this wonderful festival once I get on to the QEW from the border (small note, this is my first drive to Toronto, so I'm a bit paranoid ^_^). thank you, friendly fru folk ^_^ Amy "It's not forbidden to be what you are. I wouldn't fret about it i suspect that there are enough of us old farts out there to form our own geriatric ward at the shows. Maybe we could form our own section where they serve nothing but prune juice and enemas. jude ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 03 Aug 1998 16:48:08 GMT From: dacilen@bu.edu (Vika Zafrin) Subject: Re: "Well, bless Canada for bringing us these boys" On Mon, 03 Aug 1998 09:22:43 -0500, Marty Blase wrote: >Is anyone archiving all these reviews on the website, by the way? So, I will be the 6"3' guy with around 4 weeks growth worth of blonde hair, blue eyes, glasses, a black pouch, black shorts (with maybe some green), and a Dilbert t-shirt which says "Technology, no place for wimps" I can't wait to talk to everyone.... most people... anyone!!! :) Well then, see you at Burke's Falls, Life101 P.S. Go see Rick Fines!! A skirt and/or sarong are not necessarily equivalent to a kilt and this certainly was not a kilt. It wasn't plaid either. Apparently you weren't there, so I suggest you keep your know-it-all attitude to yourself. Anyone going up from DC/Baltimore? (I just called the airlines today to fly up Friday and back Sunday night. Great Googly-Moogly! were they expensive. Hopefully the E-savers might have good fares out of here.) Or, as a last ditch effort, how long of a drive is it and do I need an international drivers license?
