Well, I can't make promises about everyone's behavior here, and we have had a couple of problems over the years, but on the whole--hon, welcome and speak your mind! The standard here is one of respect for others, but that doesn't extend to self-censorship: just recognition that not everyone's going to agree with you and acknowledgement that their opinions are just as valid. We really are a friendly group, but I think we really do appreciate dissenting voices to shake us up. >amen! but im affraid ive seen lots, i see more live music than i should. >mostly local stuff no ones heard of tho- they might be giants Um, I think you'll find that TMBG isn't thought of as a "local" band, especially not here. There are probably at least half a dozen people here who've said that TMBG is their favorite group and Fruvous their second favorite, or somesuch. >to everyone who caught the good omens thing- i love you all!!! why dont you >live near me? *laugh* why does that matter? A hell of a lot of us do a lot of traipsing around after 'em and frequently arrange to do it together--much more fun that way. Join us! Be assimilated! Resistance is futile! Like most things a computer can be made resonably "safe". What I mean by that is that you can download free software that can lock your computer so that your child can't just wander on while you're not home and surf to all those nasty sites. There are also software packages like net nanny and surf watch or something like that. Hell, you can do something like remove the monitor cable when you're not home. You don't leave a kid home with a loaded gun in the house, do you? My point is, the world is a dangerous place, and its really dangerous if you're stupid. You wouldn't let a kid drive your car without teaching them, would you? Then why let them use your computer? I can't stress education enough. > as wild bill said, "education not censorship".
