I wonder if anyone has a suckier Fruvous adventure story... I'm sure there are....I think this would be an interesting thread..... anyone willing to share? It's a neat interview, they play a few songs (MBLABOA, >Horseshoes) and talk about Fruheads and the Frumiles card. >Heh...sometimes my parents kick ass. :) > >Kymba > Yes! I heard it today while driving down the interstate listening to WEBX-FM (Champaign, IL). It was a pleasant treat to hear that unexpectedly! (I hadn't seen this posting yet at the time). I just got back from my first Moxy Fruvous show at Penn's Landing and all I have to say is toooooooo short.. The acts before them were good musically but none had half the stage presence or humor that Fruvous did and I really think they stole the show. Anyway they started with "I've Gotta Get A Message To You," did some normal stuff (I haven't been to fruvous concerts but I have read about them) and then did a new song called "Sad Girl" with Mike on bass, Murray on drums, Jian on acoustic guitar and lead vocals, and Dave on the little keyboard. I thoroughly enjoyed it. There was a lot of great jokes, especially "The Hippy On The Post" (if anyone saw it they understand) but I'm sure none of you really care too much about my opinion of this one show. Just felt like sharing what I saw and how much I looooove this band. - -Paul. ------------------------------ Date: 13 Jul 1998 02:33:43 GMT From: fruwench@aol.com (FruWench) Subject: Re: Sucky Fruvous Adventure Stories??? Not to mention that getting there is a shorter distance than it takes you to drive yourself to college (2 hours). *ahem* not like this has ever happened and I'm Still bitter or anything of the sort!!!!! Never!!!! ^_^ OK, some of you have heard this story before. sorry Amy ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 12 Jul 1998 23:23:42 -0401 From: DrX Subject: Re: Penn's Landing Show To make my review brief, as i've got a few things to take care of... Doors opened at 1pm...fruvous went on at 6:30. Show was hot-damn sun! ;) Luckily setrain and I had great seats, and it was great! Private showing if you ask me! My second time seeing them, and I've begun to love them even more! I'm going to beat setrain to this comment...but murray *did* look more 80's at this show over other shows and pictures that i've seen. Great comedy, and i must say They did steal the "show" and definetely had the ENTIRE crowd dancing, smiling, or at least laughing at their humor! THey played all their good songs, but would have like to hear more of them. ONE DOWNER though: Fruvous has been known to always come out and sign autographs...however, b/c the show was sponsored by a radio station...ONLY radio station members could get to talk to them afterwards. It made myself and setrain quite let down. Oh well though, the rest of the show was amazing!! Thanks setrain for introducing MF to me, and thanks to MF for giving me yet another wonderful performance! - -drx ------------------------------ End of alt.music.moxy-fruvous digest V1 #86 *******************************************
