I once watched three poor ladies swallow chocolate chip cookies made with --ahem-- mustard. Some wiseguy kid must've gotten yelled at for that! hKatherine - -----== Posted via Deja News, The Leader in Internet Discussion ==----- http://www.dejanews.com/ Now offering spam-free web-based newsreading ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 22 Jun 1998 23:27:42 GMT From: hKatherine@ehmail.com Subject: Re: Fruvous Dream In article <1998062017505400.NAA29715@ladder01.news.aol.com>, jsmooth69@aol.com (JSmooth69) wrote: > > Last night I had a cool Früvous dream. Did anyone else around here ever have a Fruvous related dream? I know I've had a few... and I HAVE seen a few old messages, so I know (yes, I know) that there's already been a thread on this. But it's soooo interesting... I had a dream where Murray hit his hand, but he had to keep very very quiet for some reason, so he was trying not to scream. It was hilarious. But I'm sure there's a lot more interesting dreams out there. ;) hKatherine "Despite the close, personnal relationship the aborigines had with the dingos... they still ate them." -- Ah, nature television... - -----== Posted via Deja News, The Leader in Internet Discussion ==----- http://www.dejanews.com/ Now offering spam-free web-based newsreading ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 23 Jun 1998 00:02:00 GMT From: hKatherine@ehmail.com Subject: Re: new yawk city In article <358E6FCF.A9E4A061@ny.hodes.com>, Gregory Weiss wrote: > > anyone know rthe date/time/venue for the NY gig? I don't know how much I'm missing here, but, well, this is probably the least-played Fruvous song of all time. However I WILL join you in your plea. It's my Dad's favorite song, and he says he won't like Fruvous until he sees them do Big Fish. hKatherine - -----== Posted via Deja News, The Leader in Internet Discussion ==----- http://www.dejanews.com/ Now offering spam-free web-based newsreading ------------------------------ Date: 23 Jun 1998 00:10:12 GMT From: gorbitron@aol.com (Gorbitron) Subject: The Housemartins OK let's clear up a couple of Housemartins things . . . The Housemartins released two albums. London 0, Hull 4 The People Who Grinned Themselves to Death They then broke up. Paul (P.D.) Heaton says it is because they saw that Rick Astley (of "Never Gonna Give You Up" fame and not Jon Astley of "Jane's Getting Serious" fame) was number one. They thought that if crap like that was selling better than them, that the world didn't deserve their music. Or at least that is how the story goes. Their album company then released a compilation called Now That's What I Call Quite Good which is a parody name of a British series of albums called "Now That's What I Call Music." This compilation contained the ONLY appearance of Caravan of Love on album as well as some other hits and singles and B-sides and alternate versions. It is excellent, in my not-so-humble opinion. This particular compilation was a double album and a single CD (I own both) and is available many places as a low priced import (I got mine for $15.99 at Circuit City). The other two albums were available domestically, and unless things have changed recently, still are. The two members of Housemartins that started Beautiful South are Paul Heaton and Dave Hemingway (drums). They are a completely different sounding group, as cee has already stated. Buy their albums. (aside: Ceecee got this 2 disc version of their one disc greatest hits - i want that second disc) That's all there is to say about The Housemartins now. Song seems to fit him pretty well, so the band might go for the tie-in. Its worth a try. I noticed that most of the national broadcasters (ESPN, ABC, etc.) were pronouncing it "ih-raw-nian" as is correct. Then on the way home I was flipping around to some local sports talk (looking for the Red Sox pregame but only finding local sports boneheads) and they were all saying "eye-ray-nian" I suppose all of this is inconsequential especially since the game meant nothing to the US soccer team and everything to Iran's soccer team. You could see it in their eyes. I read some nice pieces today about the US and Iranian fans partying together in the streets and trading clothing and waving each other's flags. I find it a little bizarre that CNN was doing a live report from Teheran about a soccer game. They were investigating possible widespread anti-American sentiment. They didn't seem to be finding any such sentiment. The "dancing in the streets" was probably due to the fact that this was the first ever victory for Iran in a World Cup match. The teams got together for a World Cup soccer match. The fans celebrated soccer together. There were no incidents, no fights, no riots, no spitting, no name calling between the players. The media spent so much time looking for trouble where there was none. This turned into a rant. I could go on for hours! If I made no sense, I am sorry. Please feel free to comment. This goes out to Pam Kiesling... Pam, I know you sent Ingrid some tapes, but (ye gods!) we both forgot exactly WHAT it was you wanted her to copy! And, also, unfortunately, we can't seem to find your address right now (not that it matters since we're both mostly off-line at the moment). So if you wouldn't mind, could you send us a little message to milou65@hotmail.com ? That's my friend Mylene's address, and she actually CHECKS her email more than once a week. Just remind us of what you want. I'm sure we'll be hitting ourselves over the head for forgetting. hKatherine - -----== Posted via Deja News, The Leader in Internet Discussion ==----- http://www.dejanews.com/ Now offering spam-free web-based newsreading ------------------------------ Date: 23 Jun 1998 01:57:47 GMT From: aditu525@aol.com (Aditu525) Subject: Re: T-shirt ideas How about green with black letters front:"Lou Reed?
