(Mais bien sur!) Our crack team (that is, the members of the team smoking and selling crack) has come up with a few time killers suited to people from beyond the North Wind ("49th pa-ra-llel") or even from the less-paved side of the world (Pisco's turf, south Jersey, Venice): 1) Develop a chronic addiction! Some on the crack team had planned to make this a plug for their wonder-drug, but I stopped them. Smack, quaaludes, meth, and pistachios are all suited to hours of solitude, pain, and lingering too close to death. Get in on the magic aujourd'hui! ("L'heroine, c'est toi ma ville!") 2) Get a job! Surly bosses, meagre pay, rude customers and ridiculous deadlines could fill as many as twelve (douze) hours a day (oy, vey) for as long as you can take it. If you can bend over and grab your ankles of your soul, this time killer is for you! 3) Bong hits! (what, I have to describe this? Go rent Half Baked or something.) 4) Learn to juggle! What good is being a fan of a buskering band if you can't hustle on the street like thay can? Learn this simple trade and you'll be able to scrounge up change every time you're short while FruBus following. You'll also be able to meet other "entertainers" (see #1) and learn great travel skills, such as how to sell lawn clippings for twenty bucks. 5) Listen to Radio One ("Radio Juan" ou "Radio Minnesota Libre" en francais) until you can synch up every clock in your house to the hourly chime. 6) Il n'y a PAS de regle numero six! I hope this has helped. Anyway, I was in math class today, and my teacher, who is very boring and never (really, never) smiles, was explaining all of these "helpful" things that our graphing calculators can help us do. As she was going on and on and demonstrating things, I had this sudden urge to raise my hand and say "Well, this might be true, but you know, if there was a fire in my living room, where me and my calculator were sitting, I could escape the fire! My calculator couldn't!" My mom is very glad I didn't do this, because she doesn't want to get a phone call from my school. It just seems that my school days are full of Fruvous (especially since my friend was sitting in the hallway today singing only Murray's part of "I Love My Boss" which was fairly odd). love Lizzie ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 26 Oct 1998 21:52:01 -0500 From: Jeff Michael Subject: Re: Frv-O-Lantern Is there any way you can "preserve" that JOL? It is truly one of a kind. I guess that's kind of the beauty of the jack o'lantern, though: its transience. Like ice sculpture, or a sunset. Or life, even. Okay, I have nauseated even myself now. I love reading the stories of the lil' ones > > getting into the Fruvous-vibe. More kiddie stories anyone? Does anyone > > have a grandparent-story? Hmm...I've never played any sort of music for my grandparents, but the other week, I was driving to the art museum with my friend and her mom, and my friend had been like "Bring a Moxy Fruvous CD so I can hear what they sound like, and we can listen to it in the car." I always feel like I have to be careful around my friends' parents, so I decided to bring Bargainville (Live Noise was obviously out, because of language, and then I was like "What if her mom is a republican" (I worry about these things) so I didn't bring YWGTTM because of YNB, then i couldn't bring B because of Ash Hash, and I wanted her to hear the more of the sillier stuff first before getting totally introspective, so I didn't bring Wood, and I was a bit worried about Stuck in the Ninties, but everything turned out okay...sorry that was pretty pointless, but I'm getting to the point). Anyway, my friend obviously liked them (how could you not?). But her mom said, in the middle of River Valley that they had really great voices, and proceeded to like KoS, remarked that Darlington Darling sounded like it should be in a musical, which struck me as funny, because I can see them acting it out (I just see Mike wearing one of those mecahnic coverall things, for some reason). And also, she liked GWS a lot. Someone mentioned before that it's kind of funny when people smile at the funny parts of that song the first time they hear it, when most of us have started to think of it only as serious, and I noticed that too. Um...so that's my story. Somehow my friends' parents always seem to like the music I listen to more than my friends do, which is kind of funny. But I'll stop now, because I know I'm rambling. Kudos to anyone who made it to the end of this post! love Lizzie ------------------------------ Date: 27 Oct 1998 03:26:38 GMT From: mxyfruvous@aol.com (MxyFruvous) Subject: 2 tix for NoHo up for grabs One ticket for each night.
