So much for the "wonderful" management of Falcon > Ridge. Dan isn't banned from Falcon Ridge. This year, Dan wanted an evening stage show and they didn't have space for him, so Dan didn't do Falcon Ridge. Yes, if the Falcon Ridge people didn't get some comment cards that mentioned Dan being (in their personal opinion - which is what comment cards are for) a little inappropriate for a family festival, I'm sure there would have been a spot on an evening stage for Dan. But they did get some of those comment cards and Dan was not at Falcon Ridge this year. Don't take any judgement from me in any of that. Just fill out your comment cards. If you want Dan Bern at Falcon Ridge, put it on your card. If you want Moxy Fruvous at Falcon Ridge, put it on your card. As far as I know, Dan is not going to be asked back to Philly Folk. He did an afternoon set and encouraged the crowd to sing along to Missing Link, which was something many people thought wasn't the best thing for him to be singing about... I could be wrong on both counts here, but those are the stories I remember from being on the Dan Bern Mailing List... - Chad ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 26 Oct 1998 09:17:40 -0500 From: Chad Maloney Subject: Re: ILMB/Brazil/Borrowed songs FruWench wrote: > > >Man, just reading "Cchhaadd" makes me tired. Home team's anthem goes last; hence, O Canada would be first at Camden Yards, followed by American anthem of choice. Glad to be of service... I'm still sort of confused over that one. hKatherine - -- "I'll have a smile... to go." -- Topon Das - -----------== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==---------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own ------------------------------ Date: 26 Oct 1998 16:19:21 GMT From: gordonlew@aol.com (GordonLew) Subject: Re: Moxy Interview on Radio in NYC 10/26 > >Moxy will be interviewed by Meg Griffin tonight 10/26 on WFUV 90.7 FM in NYC. >I >believe this will be a repeat broadcast of an interview done this summer. I was wearing my Dan Bern teeshirt at the festival this year, and found myself in a conversation with one of the festival volunteers. He indicated that Ann Saunders was none too pleased with Dan's set in '97 and found his use of language inappropriate... and, at least according to this particular volunteer, worthy of banishment from future Falcon Ridge festivals. Is this fact? I can't say for sure. Given the otherwise liberal openmindedness of Falcon Ridge, I'd be surprised myself. >Don't take any judgement from me in any of that.
