The only place that I've had a problem with as far as getting in to an 18+ show are the Mercury Lounge and Bowery Ballroon in New York, but besides that, I can usually get in with my mom. Just call and ask if you can get in with a parent, and they will usually reluctantly say yes. I'll be going to the all ages an 21+ shows in Buffalo. As far as Ontario venues, 19+ shows are alot harder for me to get into. I have a success rate of 0%. Does anyone have the phone number to the Rivoli? 4 shows in one weekend is to much to miss because I can't drink. Oh well, I'll have to hound them. Ken, even if your parents might not want to come with you, or you might not want to go with your parents, there are pleny of Fruheads out there that would pose as them to get you in! I hope that helped a little bit. Kris (TedKoppel) ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 09 Oct 1998 19:45:50 GMT From: fairest one Subject: Re: how to get a 18+ show. If you're : going to go for 18, it might as well be all ages, because 18 means nothing when : it comes to drinking age. Yup. The thing that is wrong with you is that you are not of the age of majority in the States and most/many bar owners don't want to let you in. Sucky, ain't it? I suggest doing the same thing-- find a place where they *could* play instead of where they are playing, if you don't like the place where they are playing. Fruvous doesn't set the ages for their shows-- the owners of the bars do that. b. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 09 Oct 1998 14:08:25 -0500 From: Chad Maloney Subject: Re: Posting lyrics of unfinished songs "Nowik, George" wrote: > Since the songs that the guys are singing right now as previews of > coming attractions are not, for all practical purposes, finished, they > may be subject to change. Whether that's just an HTML-ization process or if he gives them to a band member to make sure they are accurate and then posts them, it gets the lyrics available. Then, if we need to talk about them, just give a link to the page on FDC. The songs are not done. Chris does his best to represent lyrics thoughout there life time. You can see examples of lyrics from early times and how they have changed. It seems this is happening with the new songs now as they get tested out at live shows and adjusted to fit better. They'll probably be polished even more so in studio rehearsals and we'll get the treat of hearing them hopefully on the new album (or they might just sneak back into obscurity - I still want to hear Heatseeker Boy) in a form in which the Frulads have dubbed official enough to be engraved into plastic for all of us to purchase. Of course I still wonder what was wrong with the Guitar Noodling intro to the solo in Pisco. Yeah, it made the song have two bridges, but who was counting? *grin* - Chad ------------------------------ Date: 9 Oct 1998 20:20:26 GMT From: jianbabe@aol.com (JianBabe) Subject: Re: Nov 11/Baltimore info >Age: 18+ NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I do agree on the idea of trying to get in with a parent if you're under 18 -- it IS possible, for instance, for underage people to get into the Fine Line as long as you're there with a parent. I got into the last Frushow there and was nineteen at the time. I'd check at the Quest to see if they also allow parental waivers. Your parent/legal guardian does have to be there with you and ID is necessary. - - jenn ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 9 Oct 1998 16:17:36 -0400 From: "jafu" Subject: Re: Nov 11/Baltimore info one more thing does anyone know about parking near there? - -jafu Chad Schrock wrote in message <361D514C.D0E0F7BA@radix.net>... >Well, with the tickets to NoHo selling out and the tickets to the >Wilmington show selling fast, I figured that now was a good time >to get tickets to the upcoming show in Baltimore (yaaay!). > >Anyway, they are playing at a club called "The Vault." Thanks alot folks... I WILL HOLD ON (my version, which isn't necessarily the right one) I'll hold you if you feel you'll fall I'll hold your hand if you just need a friend I'll hold the line so you can call I'll hold the feeling you don't want to end You'll know that it's true when I'll hold you They'll be no secrets - I believe it I'll hold your tears if you must cry I'll hold your breath if that won't make you blue I'll hold the truth if you must lie I'll hold hold off choice till you know what to do You know that it's true when I hold you There are no secrets - I believe it So I will hold on And if that's not what you're used to Then I may refuse to Hold on And maybe that's not what you're used to How can I refuse you? I'll hold the train till you get on I'll hold the mirror while you fix your hair (?) I'll hold the pain till it is gone I'll hold the feelings you don't want to end You know that it's true when I hold you There are no secrets - you must believe it (Chorus) I'll hold the beating of my heart I'll hold my breath if you just ask me to (?) I'll hold the hope that we won't part I'll hold off death so I can live with you You knew that was true when I held you There were no secrets - I believed it (Chorus) - -- Marie-Claude "I'm beside myself.
