BTW: who is going to the Champaign show? I know that Angel and myself will be going (although I'm sure I won't be my lively self since I will have done 16+ hrs of driving the weekend before). Okay, I'll bring my vast knowledge of Falco into the discussion now :::snerk::: It's actualy the extended remix version of Rock me Amadeus where they say "In 1794 Mozart composes the Magic Flute"...I think 1794, somewhere around there, but it's definitely not the 1730s like Mike says. A strange coincedence...this said version of Amadeus is the same track number as BJ on the live album, and the exact times when some guy says it during Amadeus (it's not Falco), and when Fruvous says it are within 10 seconds of each other. I shouldn't know this stuff. Matt, If you want a fast paced IRC chat that even sometimes talks about Moxy Fruvous, check out #MoxyFruvous on Undernet. The #MoxyFruvous homepage is on FDC at http://www.fruvous.com/irc.html. There are a good number of people on at most times of the day... - Chad (now Chad on IRC to reduce confusion) ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 04 Sep 1998 10:27:24 -0500 From: Chad Maloney Subject: Re: fruvous on WXPN OurHamster wrote: > To hop back onto a Fruvous-related topic (*nod to Vika*), should I attempt to > get Fruvous played on a couple of the stations that I work for? One of the stations is Top 40s, > and another is "best of the 80s & 90s" format. > > What do you guys think? Heck yeah! If a frulad said "we are not a commercial radio band" I would take it more as "We aren't a band that is made or broken because of a song being played on the radio for the world to hear. We are a grass roots band that thrives from each individual person doing their best to spread the word and encourage people to try Fruvous just in case they will like then." But maybe I read too much into these things *grin* Anyways, heck yeah! Spread the word as much as possible. If you got an in, use it. How many times has Fruvous been mentioned in USA Today? Just out of curiousity...is anyone interested in setting up a fruvous listserv? If this topic has been addressed before sorry. I'm a new fan. :) I first heard of MF a few years ago but only recently got "Bargainville." What was I thinking waiting this long??? I'll be getting the other CDs pretty soon. Anyway, back to the listserv thing...I guess it's just because I prefer listservs over newsgroups. Of course that's just a personal preference. I like the fact that it's a little more private, plus it's accessible to people who may not get the newsgroup. Anyway, just an idea. If anyone is interested, I have access to host a listserv and have ran many others in the past (plus I currently run the Marcy Playground list). And my philosophy regarding hosting a listserv is I'm really only there to handle the technical stuff, not to moderate it. Well, either let me know through the newsgroup or email. thanks, rox ------------------------------ End of alt.music.moxy-fruvous digest V1 #408 ********************************************
