[Please send replies to me, not to the newsgroup... no need to waste bandwidth] Hey y'all, So, Chris and I will be in Toronto and Burke's Falls for the August 7-9 shows. We *could* go to a hotel/hostel/b&b, but if one of you kind souls doesn't mind giving us some floor space on Friday night in exchange for a possible ride to the show on Saturday, wouldja e-mail me? And just in case you're wondering, no, we won't need a place to lay our heads on Sunday night: we're leaving earlyish that evening to go back to Boston and catch an early morning (7:25am) flight out to CA. Thanx! Your half dozen and my half dozen makes *double figures*. Today the : Americas. Tomorrow England. The day after tomorrow, er, Wales? : Pip pip : Richard I'd be over there if they played in Britain next year! My gf would love an excuse to get back and see da place (I would too!). Heck, maybe they'll come out with another studio album next year, next March will be the 2 year anniversary of You Will Go to the Moon, so perhaps a new studio album'd be due by then? Who knows. If it sounds as good as this Robin Hood place is there's at least one enthusiastic venue ready to have Fruvous. - -Matt - -- - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Matt James Voice: (301) 231-9898 x. 121 TYC Associates email: mjames@tyc.com Rockville, MD alternate: mattj@charm.net http://www.tyc.com - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: 6 Jul 1998 14:45:52 GMT From: llesi@aol.com (Llesi) Subject: Re: 7/12 show >Francis Dunnery >James McMurty >Moxy Fruvous >Patti Griffin >Mary Arden Collins > >And allow me to continue to encourage folks to come early for Francis >Dunnery. Hi all! I'm pretty sure the list above isn't in order of performance time...I know Fruvous is scheduled second-to-last (around 5:00 or 6:00 I think)--I'll be in the studio at WXPN on Thursday so I'll check out the final lineup and post it here. And speaking of getting there early, I STRONGLY reccommend arriving early regardless of who else (aside from Fruvous) you want to see; it will be VERY crowded (not that Fruheads really need encouragement to arrive early!). It's first-come/first-served seating on a large area in front of the stage; you sit on somewhat shaded cement steps (no folk festival-y grass!), smashed in with all the other people who want an actual seat (you can stand on the sides or in the back, but you'll be in the sun) which can be rather uncomfortable. Lots of people come early and stay all day. Also, just to clarify from one of the other posts about this show: if you're planning to come for more than one day (and aren't an 'XPN member) it's $5 per day, not $5 for the whole weekend. So...I hope to see you there! Jessica "Fashion Fru" Baskin ------------------------------ End of alt.music.moxy-fruvous digest V1 #69 *******************************************
