I know enough of you from Frushows and/or reviews that it never really occured to me until now that *you* don't know *me.* So, what is there to say? In relation to most Fruheads, I'm elderly (or so I feel). I have a husband, a daughter, and pencil-pushing job. You can see pictures of my little girl, Alexandra, on FDC. If I were "young and free," I'd follow Moxy in a van for sure. I apologize for my lapse in manners. Thanks for the gateway, btw. I am Usenet-challenged, as someone put it, so this list is a Godsend. See y'all in the funny papers! The list processer will pick up your email address from the From: line, and send you a confirmation request. You must reply to the confirmation request in order to be added to the list. Starbucks has some of the _worst_ coffee I've ever tasted. Well, okay, it's still pretty good, but as far as *good* coffee goes, let's face it, it sucks. Plus, their corporate tactics, which have forced many little coffee shops around the country (including at least two in Central Square, Cambridge - that's Boston, not England) out of business, don't sit too well with me. So, if I can help it, I don't go to Starbucks. Even if Jian does have a particular... erm... fondness towards them. :) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Vika [VEE-kah] Zafrin Patron Saint of Caffeine dacilen at bu dot edu aka Coffee Fru "You and your hula dance of culinary delight..." -ceecee ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 30 Jun 1998 12:51:59 -0500 From: Chad Maloney Subject: Re: Question about the Mail-News Gateway Cameron wrote: > > How do I join up? In order to subscribe, just send a message with a blank subject and the single word subscribe in the body to ammf-request@fruvous.com. The list will then send a confirm back to you. Just follow the instructions from there and things should be great. You can either subscribe in normal form, which was detailed above, or digest form, which will send you one message a day containing all the posts to a.m.m-f for the day. To do this, place subscribe ammf-digest in the body of the message, instead of subscribe. For more information, check out http://www.smoe.org/lists/ammf.info. And thanks again to all those that made the mail<-->news gateway a reality! - Chad ------------------------------ Date: 30 Jun 1998 11:13:51 -0700 From: "Jason A. Right now, the list is set to push out at least one digest per day (assuming there is *some* content) and also has a maximum kb limit per digest. Recently it's sending between 2-4 times per day, depending on how busy things get here. Ofer could tell you more about the actual setup if you're curious. - - Jason jreiser@ecoutez.com ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 30 Jun 1998 19:28:14 GMT From: boalsjr@my-dejanews.com Subject: Pisco Bandito > Next was Pisco Bandito, which I had termed Moxy's Jimmy Buffet song. I saw my first Fruvous show in Cleveland on 6/11 and I started singing "Come Dancing" when I heard the music. I thought that's what they were about to play because I had never seen them or heard any of their songs before that night. Speaking of which, I'm finally on here! Thanks to all the people who took the time to welcome me to the Fruvous Family and thanks especially to those of you who suggested using DejaNews to read this newsgroup. Hello to all! This is my first time posting a message here, although I've been lurking around for the last few days. I have been a huge Moxy Fruvous fan since first seeing them at the Winnipeg Folk Festival a few years ago. Since then, I have devoted my life (or part of it, anyway) to trying to convert my friends to "Frudism". I have a few questions I'd like to throw out to the general public. First of all, does anyone have any more details about Fruvous' alleged Western Tour this fall? And, on a more trivial note, what are the boys saying at the beggining of It's Too Cold? It's just one of those little things that has been bugging me for quite a while, and I figured someone out there has to know! :) Take care, Gabby ------------------------------ End of alt.music.moxy-fruvous digest V1 #48 *******************************************
