I don't know if he's currently working on any particular project, but he does a lot of masterclass and demonstration work for Zildjian as their leading artist. Last week I started having photos taken of various things for my next album's sleeve, and the girl who's taking them lent me a copy of 'Only Forever' by a band called Puressence. I know absolutely nthing about them, except for the fact that they might be from up Slarvi's way. If anyone's interested in real state-of-the-art English rock you really must get your hands on it. You can tell they're only young from some of the arrangements, but they have real potential in their song-writing, which is so different from others and aware of radical and moving harmonies, but most of all they have the best singer to come out of this country since Thom Yorke (Radiohead) and Morrissey. He's a complete angel, it really takes your breath away, and he could certainly out-power even Thom without losing an ounce of the sweetness and beauty of it. So there we go - I had to tell someone!! I would tell you about all the stuff I saw/whose desks I sat at/etc., but: 1) unless you watch the show, it probably wouldn't mean very much, and 2) I'd bore y'all to death - and hey, no comments from the peanut gallery like "You've already achieved that," etc., etc. Spent all day observing filming - got invited into the bar set to watch them dress that (it's a real bar in Fells Point) and then one of the crew shot my picture behind the bar, which was prepped for X-mas episodes. Guess I know what'll be on my Christmas cards this year! Jon Seda (12 Monkeys, Selena, Dear God) came up and introduced himself to me and gave me a big hug - thanked me for watching the show. What a sweetie! Told him I needed a picture for one of my sisters, and he gave me this hysterical face just as I clicked. At the end of the day, one of the ADs came up and asked if I wanted the techie's tour of the set, which, of course, I jumped at. He showed me all sorts of cool stuff and gave me the next day's call sheet, so I knew what and whom they were filming today (Wednesday.) Then, bless him, he gave me a card to fill out to be an extra - told me he was shocked that a fan living that close to Baltimore hadn't put her name and photo in. So, card and head shot are in the mail tomorrow. Fingers and toes crossed -- maybe I could be a corpse! :-) Pictures back tomorrow - I'm getting those Kodak JPEG disks, so I can zap photos off to friends who don't believe I've been a tv show camp follower for five days straight.
