Dear Alloy, I will be editing and transferring all of the Bday ][ Greetings onto a single tape for Ian Gifford this weekend. The tape leaves for Canada with Monday's post. If you are quick about it you'll still have time to sneak in a Greeting for TMDR's 40th birthday! Send Thomas your birthday greeting directly to me as a .WAV sound file using 16bit sampling @ 22KHz in mono for best results. We've had poor results with 8bit samples, so avoid that if you can. Keep your microphone input level just shy of distortion to get the best signal/noise ratio. When you're happy with the result send it directly to: Stephen_Tilson@compuserve.com as an email attachment using the DOS 8.3 naming scheme. This isn't brain surgery, folks. If you have questions about any of this email me directly, asap, and I will help in any way I can! I am truly pleased and pleasantly surprised by all the NEW participants in this year's Greetings section of our Tribute. Don't be left out! Really, I mean it this time. I won't ask again . . . /\/\iles ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 21 Aug 1998 13:08:23 EDT From: TBlagg@aol.com Subject: Re: Alloy: I saw it, I saw it! Charles, You make me so jelous! (Live Wireless) Well, Trevor, as I recall there was a recent thread here describing how Barbara Cohen purchased a PAL version of the tape which, it turns out, she cannot use. I think she wants to keep the box, however. Perhaps you should write her (bcohen@lpl.arizona.edu) and ask . . .
