THX BETH for noticing and caring!!! just another reason why i'm an alloy member.....well umm...alloy lurker!! i & my computer are safe and sound!! i was editing a choir recording we'd just done, when the tornado alerts came in! luckily (for me anyway) i had my alloy shirt on, which seemed to ward off all the "weather demons" and the tornado stayed away from calera. need to mention that turq, was also in the storm path....certainly hope she is ok as well. funny thing though, as i was looking @ the local weather during the "crux" of the strom.....trying to decide if i should boot all my computers down....they didn't seem to "grasp" the severity of the storms as they happened.... i even remember the most trusted local weatherman, commenting on footage from some of the damaged areas, that the tornado looked like a level 2..... of course by the middle of the next day, confirmations from the national weather bureau confirmed that it had actually been a class FIVE. (for you fans of the movie "twister" out there) A.K.A. the "finger of god" i reckon it's safe to say that he was WAY off!!! thx for checking in w/me!!! it means alot ! still here, and stilll in my "lurkers hole", and thanking the heavens for stephen and my now VERY lucky alloy sweatshirt! mark ps hey stephen, perhaps a marketing thing there for you......the shirt looks great and protects you from harm as well!!! let me know if you need a written testimonial! ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 11 Apr 98 19:40:34 +1000 From: Paul Baily Subject: Alloy: Alloy shirts save lives! Hi y'all, Beth, Mark (procat1) I'd like to add my voice to those who're glad you and your respective families are still in one piece. I've been watching the news reports (yes, you made Australian news) and I was more than a little worried. An awful lot of lives will never be the same. Paul. Oh, that's right -- I had forgotten that turq was a recent addition to our very small Southeastern U.S. Alloy contingent. I checked a map, and it looks like the University of West Alabama was pretty well south of the brunt of the tornados. Still, turq, if you're online, do please let us know if you're OK. > thx for checking in w/me!!! it means alot ! Hey, no problem, just glad to know you weren't hurt. Alive and well here, at the University Of West Alabama.. we got some lightning and power flickers that made me glad to own a UPS, but nothing serious. I saw the devestation on CNN (Too bad I don't get news at 10...? ;) ).. And many of my fellow students who are Alabama natives, were affected, a very close friend lost two of his cars, his barn, and his house was damaged. Tho severe weather is nothing new to me (Missouri gets it's share...), it seems to show up so much more often down here, gets scary every now and again. Thanks for checking. :) (Though if I were MIA, don't you think Eclipse would've said something? She likely would've noticed. ;) ) - - Turq.
