(well...even more grey) We're fine in Santa Rosa. However, residents in Rio Nido (15mi.), San Leandro (55mi.), San Francisco (55mi.), and Daly City (63mi.) are in dire straits from, as you said, mudslides and other earth movement phenomena. To the best of my knowledge none of the Alloyed reside in those places. /\/\ ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 18 Feb 1998 07:42:38 EST From: RThurF@aol.com Subject: Re: Alloy: Thomas/hero (addendum) In a message dated 98-02-18 01:18:53 EST, I wrote: <> Just to clarify clunky 1am message: By "it" I of course meant Thomas' show, not just cable in general. I just don't want Thomas going around all day with his wrist to his forehead, muttering "I feel so used!" under his breath till friends at work have to send him home... I wouldn't be really that interested in Cable right now were it not for this unique chance to see Thomas battling it out with some of the country's most vicious, lycra-clad, survivalist-trained athletes!! Hi y'all, Sorry to gatecrash; you're not normally able to post to Alloy without being subscribed to it but list owners can sweet-talk mailservers into things... ;-) I just wanted to say a quick but heartfelt thank you to all of those who've kindly sent me their tapes, they're amazing! I got home today to find two more in my letterbox - it made my day. My tapes will be heading your way RealSoonNow - I'm sorry for the delay, I'm having a little trouble locking down the final playlist - scatterbrained, I know. I'll commit it to chrome by this weekend, promise. hope you're all well, JustSomeGuy. I've been able to cycle to work without wearing gloves on several occasions in the last couple of weeks, which is very unusual for this time of year. In addition, we awoke on Sunday morning to find all the cars in our street covered in a fine dust. At first we thought it was from the building site nearby, but as we drove into town we saw that every car was similarly covered. The weather reports on Monday moring confirmed what I expected. Sand storms in the Sahara had carried sand into the stratosphere which was then carried north for 2000 miles and dumped on the UK during light rain on Saturday night. It's the second time it's happened in about the last five years. I suppose El Nino is to blame again, in some shape or form, but I can't work pout how. The car washes have never had it so good. Boston has also been unusually warm this season. It's nice but confusing...I never know what to wear for my long haul to work & if i dress too warmly I roast!
