You can contribute a song to the birthday tape AND a piece for the book, they shouldn't be thought of as mutually exclusive! The cover design of the book will more closely resemble a medieval embroidery sampler than an actual coat-of-arms. I hope to embody some of what I feel in Thomas' music in its design. There are seven people currently on board for contributions to the book; some have contacted me off-list to propose their project, and I have to say they sound BRILLIANT so far! The contribution deadline is not until late Spring 1998, so you do have time to think it over (THINK YES!!) Contributions may include drawings, poems, stories, photographs, etc and should reflect something of how Thomas' work has affected you, or illustrative of one of his songs. You may be as serious, playful, psychotic, minimalist, blatant, scientific or mysterious as you wish. It's meant to be fun, so go and experiment with various media while sitting with your headphones on (blaring Thomas, of course) and see what you come up with!! Start now to avoid a deadline crunch. Anyone needing specs for the submissions can contact me. Robin ------------------------------ End of alloy-digest V2 #284 ***************************
