I have to agree with pretty much everything that Brian said. The shirt is getting far too busy, with all the stuff that folks are wanting on it. We need to scale this back a bit, and I'm sure our friendly neighborhood t-shirt maker will thank us for it. And, oh dear...how to put this politely...screw it, I'll just speak my mindlessness... Fruit Juice Everywhere SUCKS! I feel better now. :) I know, we should all respect each other's opinions, and I do...but fruit juice everywhere is just a really bad idea, IMHO. I'm just having a heard time coming up with a way other than the above to express my intense dislike for that quote when used in this idiom. ****** Charles E. Speaking about names: at least you don't have any Scandinavian characters with dots in your name...; "Ulfstedt" sounds like a fine and typical Finnish-Swedish name. ... and, yes, "Lissu" is definitely easier to pronounce for Finns (and also typical for Finns; to come up with pet names like that :-) /Juha ... temporarily back at work, before leaving for another week of holiday (lightly disguised as a continuation course in choir conducting :-) - -- Juha Takkinen, M.Sc. juhta@ida.liu.se Troskaregatan 69:23 ph +46 13 21 16 92 SE-583 33 Linkoping, SWEDEN http://www.ida.liu.se/~juhta/ - -- All discarded lovers should be given a second chance, but with somebody else. -- Mae West ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 26 Jul 1997 10:30:51 -0400 From: Melissa Jordan Subject: Re: Alloy: Clarification At 10:54 PM 7/25/97 -0700, Charles wrote: >Fruit Juice Everywhere SUCKS! And what about the Viking museum Slarv mentioned? >Maybe we could all meet for dinner somewhere! >Robin :) If you're going to York there's a lot more to see than just the Jorvik museum. The castle museum is big-ish by English standards and I really enjoyed my visits there. Just going to those two could take most of a day. The national railway museum is also in York, and the whole city is pretty picturesque. Not knowing how long you're going to be in the UK, or where you'll be based, it's difficult to recommend places to visit. Can you give more details or are your plans not firmed up yet? If you're fans of The Prisoner, Portmeirion on the Welsh Lleyn Peninsular is certainly worth a day trip, but only if the weather's fine as it's almost all out of doors. It's a beautiful place to go for a picnic, to look at the fabulous buildings, to walk in the woods or stroll along the beach (no Rovers to chase you these days). I don't know about ALL meeting up for dinner. Lem is in London, I'm in Manchester and I'm not sure where Neil is (Lecieseter rings a bell for some reason, but it could be my grey cells playing tricks on me again). It's not just going to be a half hour trip for one or more of us. And I'm not sure that 'bizarre' is quite the expression I'd use for visiting me. 'Awkward' might be nearer the mark. I personally have reservations about this kind of meeting, possibly because face to face is rather different from prattling on via e-mail or the chat room. Perhaps I just need a bit more time to get used to the idea. It's over 12 months away, so I may be OK if I start a course of therapy right away. Has anyone else on the Alloy list experience of this type of thing? If so, how did it go?
