Did anyone catch it? Is there a transcript available? BC We were there for the last 15 minutes of it. Dr. Terenzi is a very cool & interesting person & I wish we had gotten there sooner! She lists her e-mail address and invites everyone to write to her: fiorella@fiorella.com . I am going to check HYPR to see if the transcript is available yet. I, too, would be interested to know if it's true (Thomas - or someone he knows - arrested in the Louisiana bayoux for stealing a Datsun!) The texture of the song is as lush with various instruments as the bayou he sampled seems to be with frog and insect noises. If he were to redo it for some purpose (perhaps live) I'd love to hear it done with the Louisiana Reperatory Jazz Band, full orchestra and gospel chorus! That and "The Flat Earth". I can picture them both being played in drastically different ways than they were originally recorded. They would both be show-stealers in a "Dolby Unplugged" set. Now that would be experimentation! And truly amazing. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 21 Mar 1997 21:57:12 -0800 (PST) From: Brian Clayton Subject: Re: Alloy: Reprise (and ILYG) On Fri, 21 Mar 1997 RThurF@aol.com wrote: > I Love You Goodbye is a truly great song. I believe the part about about the sheriff was inspired by an actual incident: being pulled over while driving through Louisiana. This is nothing unusual, however, as apparently just about *everybody* gets pulled over while driving through Louisiana, regardless of how well they are, in reality, driving. The fact that 60 Minutes did a story on this very topic should give some idea of the questionable nature of the law enforcement in that fine state--particularly the evidence that widespread acceptance of "contributions" is not, sadly, a product of Our Founder's poetic license...
