Melissa, you really read my mind on this one: I had Brian Ferry in mind for doing "I Scare myself" and and "Screen Kiss" Then there's the idea of Maxi Priest doing "My brain is like a sieve" And what about Jeff Buckley doing "neon sisters," or "mulu the rain forest"? I love 'em crooners,... They'll be in DC very soon, and I'm going to hear the test drive of the new female Bob. Strange rituals arise in strange places, and a Sunday night in Moscow was not complete without a fairly vicious game of contract rummy (between very good friends) peppered with colorful vulgarities, lots of microwave popcorn, a Pepsi sugar high (since the Russian formula has twice the sugar of the U.S. version) and a selection of tunes by TMDR, Erasure, They Might Be Giants, and The Bobs. We played the music loud - it covered up the handgun fire from the club down the street... Cheers, Melissa - ------------------- Melissa R. A Ferry version of "I Scare Myself" would be fab. >Then there's the idea of Maxi Priest doing "My brain is like a sieve" That's another good one. I had thought of Les Negresses Vertes doing "Silk Pyjamas," but I don't know if their general strangeness would overpower the sweet funkiness of the tune. Alright. Back to the pit (lash, lash!) They hang around and sign autographs; they're very approachable. I saw Janie's last Berkeley show in December. I'm going to miss her too. Now that she's settling down, she plans to "buy a dog," I hear. BC - --- Brian Clayton "The only real acting is with the Royal Shakespearean stemish@kumr.lns.com Company.
