I brought in the new year by listening to The Flat Earth (for the first time since a certain kiwi/Aussie/IT gun for hire listened to it with me :-) which was a ritual I had for about 10 years. I hadn't done it for the past couple but thought it was a tradition to reinstate. Anyone else do the same? I subscribe to the Crowded House email list and a person posted a very amusing message, ending with what the lyrics for the ultimate Neil Finn song would be (Neil tends to use certain images frequently). I was contemplating what the ultimate TMDR song would have to contain and only got as far as a reference to vaseline and a smattering of French. Help me out here! Neil Leacy kindly suggested to me once again that I should post my account of the TMDR concert I saw in Chicago for the Flat Earth tour. With any sort of encouragement at all (even one email saying "Maybe I'd read it"!) I will indeed transcribe it. I just fear that you folks find me insufferable (though I tend to ascribe qualities such as acceptance, open-mindedness etc. with Dolby fans) and don't want to stuff your mailbox with things you'd rather not read. May 1997 be the year that rarities CD finally materializes! Mary ___________________________________________________________________________ _____ Mary A. Hi y'all, Happy New Year to you! Sorry about the awful text wrapping in the message I forwarded for Mary just now. It was my fault; our email programs had differing ideas on what to do with hard returns and I didn't check 'til after, so in this case you can safely shoot the messenger. :-) cheers, Paul. __________________________________________________________________________ Paul Baily paulb@thehub.com.au Consulting SE/IT Mercenary http://www.thehub.com.au/~paulb Brisbane, Australia There is a spirit here that won't be broken ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 2 Jan 1997 19:52:23 -0800 (PST) From: Elaine Linstruth Subject: Re: Fwd: Re: Alloy: 1997ers Are you joking? Oh, and lets not forget that this very same Genetic Ingenue once got hauled up on stage by TMDR mid-concert ...then looked at her and said "Hey, I /know/ you don't I?" and then proceeded to introduce /her/ to the crowd... Too late to go quiet now, buddy. :-) Paul. __________________________________________________________________________ Paul Baily paulb@thehub.com.au Consulting SE/IT Mercenary http://www.thehub.com.au/~paulb Brisbane, Australia There is a spirit here that won't be broken ------------------------------ End of alloy-digest V2 #2 *************************
