From: Neil Leacy As I will be away for the next week I'll take this oppurtunity to wish you all the best for the holidays and the 1997 (BTW Paul - Don't forget you're never alone with a TMDR album!). And now for the little tale... Walking back from the park yesterday my ten year old daughter asked, "What's your New Year Resurrection, Daddy?" and quick as a flash I replied "Thomas Dolby's Rare Tracks I hope!" Bon Noel!!! Thanks for being a part of Alloy in 1996, and I hope 1997 is as good for you. I can't imagine many artists have such an intelligent and imaginative group of hardcore fans. I am very fortunate! My family -- Kathleen, Lilian (5) Claire (3) and Graham (1) are doing incredibly well. We're enjoying a new life in a small town in Northern California. I'm spending most of my time with them and at my company, Headspace. It's very exciting to be at the vanguard of a whole new kind of experience that's becoming possible with new advances in technology, and the popularity of the Internet. Hopefully, this will change the way a musician relates to his/her audience, and enables a new way for us to make a living, without being beholden to greedy record companies. Time will tell. I do miss making music. Perhaps this next year will find me booking myself solo into some some smoky little club to play songs like 'Screen Kiss' just for the hell of it. You'll be the first to know. I look forward to some more fascinating insights from the Alloy list in 1997, and I'd like to thank Paul once again for making this possible. While TMDR's cyber vapors still linger, I would also like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, and encourage all of the Americans, to take Boxing Day off as well. It makes Christmas even better and allows one the time to figure out how to (re) assemble their new toys... of course, while listening to TMDR's music.
