Do I detect the consequences of competition here? Does your new provider give you 'summat for nowt' (i.e. something for nothing) or are there mpore soinister reasons for the change? You know you can do better when you politely email an ISP's support address with a couple of minor queries like DNS availability and why their modem bank just doesn't answer about 1 in 3 times, and you get a defensive/noncommital 'we're happy with it' response... (in fact later that week I used the email thread to show a client's IT support group a classic example of how /not/ to provide service.) Hub Communications, OTOH, were 100% professional and client service orientated from the word go. I know which one I'll be recommending my Brisbane clients connect to! I guess some providers out there are still trying to figure out what that 'S' in ISP means. ... and of course a much faster link certainly doesn't hurt. :-) cheers, Paul. P.S. d'owh! I promised myself I wasn't going to start badmouthing, sorry! ___________________________________________________________________________ _ Paul Baily work: bailyp@citec.qld.gov.au Consulting SE/IT Mercenary play: paulb@thehub.com.au Brisbane, Australia http://www.thehub.com.au/~paulb ------------------------------ End of alloy-digest V1 #96 **************************
