I really appreciate your information about XTC on your web page and I'm really looking forward to February of next year. Tell Andy a fan in Denver says hi. Yes it's true - your first postings were so Alloyesk that I didn't even notice they were from a newcomer. Now, here's some Alloy history for you. Last year (and again this year, but not yet out there) many member's of Alloy put together a Thomas Dolby birthday tribute tape which was personally given to the man himself. The tape consisted of one track with birthday greetings by various Alloy members and ten Thomas Dolby covers by Alloy members. The tapes were only available to those who contributed to the project, but a lower quality version is available for on-line appreciation in Real Audio at : http://www.concentric.net/~Kasman/aambc.html Also, if you wish to see what you missed in Alloy past, you can read the archives at: http://www.smoe.org/lists/alloy/ Again, welcome and..... I'm having this problem with the MSHFlexGrid control in Visual Basic 6.0 when it is bound to a SQL table which contains no records...... Oh never mind - I'll work around it.. Welcome. Same with the left hand lever to change to front mech. The only problems I get is with chain rub on the extreme gear settings, cos I can't trim the front mech like you can with the old fashioned levers. Other than that, they are wonderful. Incidentally, some clever sod has come up with a 14-speed hub gear, but it costs around three hundred quid. Over to you, Sturmey-Archer... The very name conjours up pictures of the District Nurse on her sturdy sit-up-and-beg roadster. Only kids with no cred had bikes with hub gears when I were a nipper. If you didn't have Campag at least on the rear, you were nobody. My first racer was a second hand Reg Harris, that I rebuilt with Campag changers front and rear, Campag large flage 'ubs, with chromed double butted spokes, Campag bar end gear levers, and red anodised Weinmann 999 centre-pull breaks with Universal levers. I must have been blinding to see on a sunny day. But whatever happened to Benelux (they used to make gears that worked in reverse, i.e. you pulled back on the lever to change UP), Stonglite, Simplex (remember those plastic gears? Weird, baby), Huret and all those manufacturers of yesteryear? My youth is flashing before me, and he's on MY old reg Harris. When I was young, Schwinn was a great name in the motorcross bike world. My dad would build Schwinn bikes for all of us kids. Never got into motorcross racing but sure enjoyed spending hours doing jumps and going on bike trails on my trusty Schwinn.
