As others say, it sounds like something cool to do when one wants to get away from it all. Elaine, >words and music fit the "mood" very well. ILYG is the same way. Anyway, >but to see them get a tour together with the hook about being an 80'S >REUNION! just seems like, "oh well 80's memorabilia is hot right now so >let's capitalize." I think that's what Thomas meant. Actually, I see it in a different way. I don't know about Human League, but both Culture Club and Howard Jones have new material to play. Howard Jones has the "Angels and Lovers" CD (I believe that's what it's called). Culture Club doesn't have a new studio album YET, but they do have new material that they are performing at these concerts. I see the tour as a test to see if they still have an audience and how they react to the new songs. (Remember, Thomas also did this with Aliens At My Buick. He toured first then went into the studio.) To me, it's "Hey, we're still around and check out our new songs too". Ok, I'm REALLY embarassed to admit this. I bought a used copy of "Live Wireless" on LaserDisc at a record store couple months ago, but I still haven't seen it! I keep saying to myself "I'll rent a LD player this weekend", but I end up being too lazy or too busy. :-( I'm just hoping the LD doesn't have any rot or damage because those record stores really know how to price these rare things. :-/ - -Phil ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 10 Oct 1998 15:14:23 -0700 (PDT) From: Monya De Subject: Alloy: lyrics--enjoy (just imagine acoustic guitar and breathy vocals :) I wish you were mine, my love instead C F G Am I wish I could hold you when she messes with your head F G C my secret angel G Fma7 my secret hell I am the one that feels the warmth of your breath I hear the whispers inside you from the voices in your head it is the knife that cuts you and bleeds you red (with backing voc) shadows of Eden, please welcome me home but now I'm not even the boy who was gone time left me reeling and time left me cold I am the piercing light of your soul I am the one you didn't plan on bringing home so I'm standing before you and I'm standing alone (voc I mel. change, voc II harmonize) a city of voices rises up in your eyes in this darkness they wander in a city of lies follow them easy and follow them home (modulate to D) does she make you happy, does she make you smile does she chase away all of the monsters inside does she stop all your bleeding does she make it right I wish you were mine, my love instead I*ll be your blanket when you lie in your bed my secret angel my secret hell ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 10 Oct 1998 15:35:08 -0700 (PDT) From: Elaine Linstruth Subject: Re: Alloy: 80s bands & music camp Hey, Phil I can get behind that totally. I wasn't aware of their new stuff. Like I said before too, I did like Culture Club at the time and I'd be happy if they made a "comeback." And as for not watching "Live Wireless" yet: *smack*smack*smack* the back of your hand young man! :) Regarding that music camp, Robin .. do you watch ER on Thursdays? (I admit it, I'm an ER junkie.) The character Jeanie returned from a vacation in the 10/8 episode, talking about this really great time she had at a music camp. She said they played til dawn every night, all kinds of music.. from rock & blues to country or gospel and "you name it." Is this the hip new trendy vacation or something? ;) I thought it was interesting to hear about that from two different sources in the same week. - -- Elaine Linstruth Palmdale, CA (USA) > Actually, I see it in a different way.
