Ok, I was taking a WAG (wild assed guess) about the `secret' you and Paul were coyly posting about in early April. I did some snooping about and discovered that Headspace is putting together some kind of virtual jam session software whereby up to four people can play Java/Beatnik based instruments simultaneously over the web. The program is referred to as "Groovetub." You can read what little information has been released about it in the news section of the Beatnik homepage. It sounds exciting! Sorry, as I did explain, there was never any secret - just a perceived one. Someone here was suggesting at the time that Thomas get out to a club & do a one-night performance (presumably near the home of whoever was posting this suggestion! :) I jokingly said that I had a 'strange feeling' Thomas might be busy with something that was taking up a great deal of his time and energy - by this I simply meant HEADSPACE itself, on the whole, which everyone here is aware of as Thomas primary concern - but Paul innocently questioned me about it, thinking it was some other project I'd somehow heard about... I'm flattered, dear Miles, that you think I might be really 'with it', or have the ability to see into Headspace's future creative/business successes (in which case Thomas would certainly have hired me IMMEDIATELY by now) when I have trouble enough keeping my own projects straight! As I have always felt ever so slightly utterly confused when hearing about the brilliant work of Headspace - your assumption is all the more flattering to me :) Robin ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 11 May 98 22:37:58 +1000 From: Paul Baily Subject: Re: Alloy: Whassup with Groovetub? > >> So, I know you guys aren't supposed to know (or share) anything about > >> this, but what's up with GrooveTub? However, going through the attic I noticed I have extra album flats for "Astronauts and Heretics" as well as "Aliens Ate My Buick". I also have many "Golden Age" buttons(I used to wear 20 on my coat in high school!) and I'm still looking to see what other extras might be lurking about. I believe it's much better to share some of these things with fellow fans than leave them sitting in my piles forever. Also, if anyone is looking for any particular records I might be able to help. I am still looking for Kevin Armstrong's solo album which may or may not have "Samson and Delilah" on it. I was told by a record service that it does exist but I have never seen it. Well, I've been checking around for years with a number of nutritionists, doctors and dieticians and the best diet I know of (in all honesty) is to eat all the carbs you want, as long as it's all in the form of raw fruits and veggies. Also be sure to get lots of whole grains, nuts (even if they're fattening, within reason), beans and seeds. However, you can eat no processed or synthetic foods, for optimal weight loss. Including, no NutraSweet and Saccarine, etc. You must eat fats (avoid the saturated) but at a moderate minimum. You must also eat proteins, also at a moderate minimum. You should also feel more energy as well as loosing the weight. Oh, and if you gain weight on this diet, be sure your not also loosing inches. People have an obsession with loosing pounds over inches. I don't even weigh myself anymore. I look at how much fat I have (inches). And you can't avoid exercise. They will never make a pill that will replace it. Ever. One last thing. If you get yourself on a 'super-nutrient' supplement (a high-quality one) you just might loose fat without changing your diet at all.
