As this was after all, a safety text, all the more appropriate and appreciated! And thank you for reposting Kick-Man! An Alloy Moment, to be sure. Cheers, /\/\Thug2 ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 6 May 1998 21:17:39 EDT From: RThurF Subject: Alloy: Excellent bike advice/Birthday Art Project!!! Thanks everyone for all the great advice concerning bike riding. I'm just taking a much needed brek from my busy day, before starting in on my favorite project lately (Thomas' mystery birthday present) and enjoying my favorite mixed drink as I read my e-mail. One-half Paul Masson sweet Rose wine, one- half Tang (the orange stuff astronauts drink) Mmmmm! Slarvi, do you think ten-speeds are really safer than mountain bikes on the road? Even if the handlebars are wider, mountain bikes have such wide tires & good traction. Also, I know I'll take a fall now and then... I can fall really well, thanks to martial arts training :) !... everyone I know who rides has been covered with bruises/scabs/bandaids, or had a cast, on occasion. As long as it isn't my backneck or head I'll be pleased. And may I ask, how's everyone's Birthday Art projects going? PLease tell me! So far I've gotten two contributions, one completed, and the other a work in progress for me to review. If anyone wants to discuss their idea with me or has any questions, let me know. I haven't heard from lots of people who I thought would be among the first to jump at the chance to be involved with this project, so if everyone could be so kind as to inform me of your intentions one way or another, so I know what to expect? Robin, sorry, I know I owe you email, inbound! >> Paul, I know you're swamped with work! Don't worry... though I always DO look forward to hearing from you :) I've been stressed out over work myself... way, way too stressed out. I can always tell when seasonal concerts are coming up because all the kids who rent with us suddenly start practicing, and have dreadful accidents with their poor instruments, which I have to fix - so I'm really buried this week.. plus I'm training two people in the midst of all this, and for some reason my own managers have begun scheduling meeting after meeting which I have to attend... Feh! Plus, one of my ferrets died last Thursday & I really miss him (we only have two left now! :( I need a vacation!
