Drum roll, please.... So, the big question at the end of the 1997-98 Beth Meyer Job Interview Tour is, which fellow Alloyites will be gaining Beth as a neighbor? Will it be... Mary, Stephen, Brian, Phil, & Monya De in the Bay area? (the Oracle job) Melissa in Maryland? (the GE job) Robin & Dave in Boston? (the Lotus job) or Keith and JAMac in Denver? (the US West job) Or, will she just stay put in Atlanta? (the startup described previously) The answer is.... Keith and JAMac in Denver! Yep, Keith is becoming increasingly far from being the sole inhabitant. I just turned in my acceptance to US West today. Now technically, I will actually be based in Boulder, which is about 30-45 minutes away from downtown Denver by car. But for someone who is accustomed to Atlanta traffic, that's trivial. I'm pretty psyched. It really feels very right. For reasons over and above getting to occasionally hang out with Keith and JAMac at the Wynkoopee! Mark is also very excited, since he just loves mountains. I should be starting work there on June 17, after graduating on June 13, assuming there are no further setbacks in finishing up at Georgia Tech. (The latest one was frightening: just when it looked like I finally had a possible date for my dissertation defense, and I only needed to clear it with my advisor, I found out that he was in the hospital with a suspected heart attack. Fortunately, it wasn't one and he is back home now, but talk about nerve-wracking!) Well, that's probably enough on the subject. Rest assured I will still be on Alloy during the transition -- I've already figured out an e-mail address that I will be able to keep in both places!
