I just thought it had something to do with cable systems having only a certain number of channels, and, in some cases, only offering a free channel during certain hours, and then replacing it with a pay premium channel later (or earlier.) For instance, we only get E! from 7 (I think) in the morning until 6 p.m., when it promptly turns into wavy lines and the Independent Film Channel. We used to have the same problem with Bravo, but now we get that all day (much to my delight on sick days.) I'm always annoyed with the E! thing, since I'd love to be able to occasionally watch those trashy "True Hollywood Story" shows they do in the evening. (Hey, I could have worse vices, eh?) Seems to me, cable companies are going to have to stop doing this sort of thing, with the competition increasing. - -- Elaine Linstruth Palmdale, CA (USA) On Wed, 11 Mar 1998, RThurF wrote: > Why is this? It's wild -- I've received four orders this week, plus lots of lovely feedback. I've gotten some humdingers, too, from people who write to me saying things like, "Why aren't you making sexy clothes? Your clothes look like something that a lesbian assistant art professor who raises ferrets would wear!" That, I swear to god, is a feedback quote. I was laughing out loud when I read it. Well, heck, if I'm destined to garb the ferret-raising lesbian population of the world, then so be it! Too funny. I thought about writing back, "Well, I'm straight and allergic to animal dander... does this mean I shouldn't be wearing my own clothes?"
