Brown" Subject: Alloy: Dreams, dames, & details Hello Alloyed! I apologise in advance for the schizophrenic nature of this post but I figured I'd just condense these points into one message. I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the recent cover of "Video Killed the Radio Star". I've only heard it once but liked it. It's a la the Buggles version rather than the Bruce Woolley and the Camera Club one which makes me wonder if the Presidents of the United States have even *heard* the other version. Too bad TMDR didn't contribute to the composition of the song since I'm sure he'd appreciate the royalties. Stephen and I recently purchased and watched the series on dreams which aired on the Discovery Channel in '94. I still remember lying on the futon couch in Murfreesboro (can you picture me, Trixie, and Cootie all plopped there, Paul?) being roused out of my haze of nausea and pain by the sound of new music I swore was from TMDR (confirmed by the end credits, much to my delight). Fortunately, much of it is represented on The Gate. I was certainly out of the loop then so can anyone tell me which of the two came first? Anyway, the shows themselves are quite well done I think, especially if you have an interest in the subject. The three, hour-long videocassettes are available from the Discovery Channel's website and cost about $40. In response to Brian's comments about Fiorella's attire, yes, dear boy, you have indeed been going to the wrong universities. I have been notorious for wearing suede miniskirts under my lab coat since grad school and even wore a black leather skirt to my thesis defense. My close female friends who have PhDs are all very attractive and quite sexy (this means you too, Beth, since you're almost there!). In fact, Stephen and Paul can attest to the fact that my best friend is absolutely gorgeous! My advice to you, Brian, is to take an interest in the life sciences... And my last bit of silliness - I recently felt compelled to buy some Lancome lipstick and nail polish (actually, my sweetie, /\/\iles, who spoils me rotten, got it for me) simply because of the name: Alloy! The color goes quite nicely with the Alloy shirt too. Europa ------------------------------ End of alloy-digest V3 #52 **************************
