Cool on you. :) I have a set of the 5 American 11 1/2 inch dolls (still boxed) on my headboard. I also snagged the 6 inch Rini and Tuxedo Mask dolls when I was visiting a friend in Canada in early November. I tell ya, looking at all the stuff they have available, as compared to the states, I wish I lived a sight closer to the international border. In related news, it was my daughter's sixth birthday this past Sunday, and not only did she get a birthday party at ChuckECheese (what an experience), but she was the proud recipient of the recently released Sailor Moon CD-Rom game. ( Boy, was I happy to find a copy of that locally...I thought I was going to have to mail order to Canada for it.) Needless to say, she's a very happy little camper. :) Robyn @ Robyn Moore @ http://www.alveus.com/kbrm/robyn.html @ You knew the job was dangerous when you took it. - S.C. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 12 Feb 98 19:35:02 +1000 From: Paul Baily Subject: Alloy: Bye for now Hi y'all, I'll be hopping off Alloy after this message for a short while. Yes, Mozart was Austrian, as any visit to Vienna will pound into your head. :-) I believe that Falco was too, which might explain why he was interested enough in Mozart to write a song about him. The line in "Rock me Amadeus" to which I am referring is the final spoken line in English, which says something like: "1985: Austrian rock singer Falco records ROCK ME AMADEUS!" Also, I remember when the radio announcer gave the news about Falco's death, he mentioned that a friend of his (Falco's, not the radio announcer's) was taking the body back home to Austria. It mainly occurred to me to mention it because, in my interactions with Austrian people, I've gotten the impression that they're rather unhappy when you call them German. Though all the Austrians I've met have been too nice to make a huge issue of it. OK, sorry for the digression, I'll be quiet now.... I believe that the Austrians are historically as well as politically different from the Germans, in spite of common origin. Austrians are German, certainly, but only in regards to their language (and perhaps their ethnicity). With that logic, many Americans are actually English (speak the language) but are not English (from the Island)! - --Omega ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 12 Feb 1998 14:40:21 -0500 From: Melissa Jordan Subject: Alloy: Used CD Stores Maybe I'm treading on some toes here... I know how loathesome many artists find secondhand CD stores, so, my apologies to TMDR in advance... I've been reading so much about folks having trouble finding copies of AAMB, or, finding it as a pricey import. Over Christmas, I found two copies of AAMB on CD in a used CD store in Moline, Illinois for $7.99 each. As a matter of fact, I'm listening to one of those right now (a test drive before I give it to a friend.) Are you folks who have trouble finding AAMB and other stuff looking in used places? For those who don't have fab jobs and lots of disposable income, it's a good option. Still very worried that Paul's left Alloy, Melissa Melissa R. I then lovingly draped the shirt across the rack in my room, where the soft breeze from a fan would caress it all night beside the subtle warmth of our bedroom radiator. It sure looks perky this morning, and I'm feeling refreshed. I just hope it still respects me. He commented that he's left for awhile because he wants to protect his porch light from being shot out. (If he can still make jokes he obviously must be in reasonable shape.) Let's all send warm, comforting mental thoughts to him in the hopes he'll come back that much sooner. As Paul himself might say, "no worries, mates!"
