I admit it, I didn't watch the Superbowl...but I *did* watch Celebrity Deathmatch on MTV at half-time...for those of you who didn't see it, here's what happened... Fight #1: Kathie Lee Gifford vs Howard Stern Howard won Fight #2: Pamela Anderson Lee vs RuPaul Pammy won Fight #3: The Hanson Brothers vs The Spice Girls Marilyn Manson killed all eight of them All in all, a good source of claymation entertainment...or I could just be very easily amused. And instead of watching the Superbowl, I watched "Absolutely NOT the Superbowl"...a ten-hour marathon of Absolutely Fabulous, followed by the AbFab movie, "The Last Shout"... - --Suzanne-- (a secret semi-Cheese Head) ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 26 Jan 1998 22:44:30 GMT From: IT Admin - Govt Office North West Subject: Re: Alloy: Wish me luck . . . My soundblaster even has a modeling synth built into it. A couple of years ago, modeling synths came out (at a very *ahem* modest price, like a couple thousand for a synth that could only do one voice) and it was the first time I ever heard a saxophone on a keyboard that sounded real. The 'dancing baby' is a very good example of modeling. You can program a skeletal structure, and the skin is generated by formulas of displacement and elasticity, etc so that all you have to do is manipulate the skeleton and the computer models all the frames for you as they would perhapse move in real life. With these modeling synths, all you have to do is plug in the physical properties and dimentions of these instruments and viola! instant synthetic copy! Of course, this idea of modeling does have limitations but those are always being worked out by our kind programmers and scientists. Soon, You can rent your own virtual home on the internet. Just imagine! Strap on your virtual suit, dial an address and again, viola! Instant party! "I love what you've done with this place! You must tell me who your author is! And your hair! Did you program that yourself? Look at Jack, er, I think that's Jack. He's always coming as some sort of animal. What is that, a cross between a panther and an emu?" ___________ JAMac (Dennis S.
