I'll have to go with my favourites TODAY, which are polar bear and ........... oh damn, I don't know, possibly sky blue, though that covers a multitude of shades, and I too like turquoise ( I use turquoise ink in my second best fountain pen). Then again I love the colour of leaves in the autumn, but that's another three thousand shades, and the green of the grass in the Cumbrian hills. Sod it, I can't be original, so I'll stick to turquoise. Anybody seen a turquoise polar bear recently? Now then Rupert Hine (thumbs through his aging 1991 copy of Rock Record)? He's been knocking about for yonks, but he's probably best know in the UK for his 'humorous' single with Quantum Jump, "The Lone Ranger." Apart from five albums of his own between '71 and '85, my book shows he's also appeared on ablums with :- Kevin Ayers (KB - Confessions of a Dream) Camel (vocal - I Can See Your House From Here ) Caravan (Synth - For Girls Who Grow Plump In The Night) Chris de Burgh (KB, Synth, vocal - The Getaway, Man On The Line) Robert Palmer (KB - Pride) Anthony Phillips (vocal, perc - Wise After The Event) Power Station (KB - The Power Station) Quantum Jump (KB, vocal - Quantum Jump, Barracuda, Mixing) Tom Tom Club (? - Close To The Bone) Tina Turner (Producton, vocal, bass, KB - Private Dancer, Break Every Rule) Wildlife (KB, perc, vocal- Burning) There you go, everything you didn't really want to know about him. By coincidence, I remember the publicity poster which a friend of mine had in his living room, for his album with David Maciver in '71, "Pick up a bone." I was always intrigued by it, but I've never heard the album. Slarv P.S. A question. How did Jean-Dominique hear about Alloy? I heard of it in the Flat Earth Society Tap Room, but now it's no longer there, how will TMDR fans hear about it? Sarah McLaughlin recently did a cover of their song "Dear God." It's a song that stands up and shouts in your face, literally in one part! I don't care for the topic but it's still an incredible piece of work! My favorite of theirs is "Chalkhills and Children". I put it on a tape of lullabys for when I can't sleep.
