Hello All(oy), Last night I finally saw Caddyshack as Comedy Central was airing it for t= he = umpteenth time and was struck by the fact that "Flying Man", a tune by Br= uce = Woolley and the Camera Club was being played during the scene where a cou= ple = of caddies were fighting over the price of a Coke. I patiently waited fo= r = the credits to roll, hoping to see some recognition but no such luck. Gu= ess = our hero got no royalties from that one... And speaking of Bruce Woolley, does anyone know why Annie Lennox (one of = my = big faves) thanks him on her Diva CD, along with Chucho Merchan? Oh, and Suzanne, now that Stephen and I watched Rockula tonight (we're pr= oud = owners of a copy!), I can't help but wonder how many times you've wished = you = were Mona being carried over TMDR's shoulder! Speaking as someone who ha= s = experienced his impressive upper body strength, I think he'd have no prob= lem slinging *you* over his shoulder (I picture you as this delicate little = thing...). Hi y'all, My computer is back to full strength now; after limping along on single 100MB Zip disks for everything (read sloooow!) I've finally been able to afford a new hard disk to replace the failed one (I've never seen a chip commit suicide by cracking and melting a whole in itself.) 2.5GB of disk space awaits your photos so keep them coming! Thanks to those of you who've already sent photos or links, I'll put them up in a couple of days time. The new disk also means I'll finally be able to revamp my web pages which is good 'cause I'm more than a little embarassed by how disorganised and incomplete they are. Watch this space. Thanks as always for your kind support and being the people you are, stay well, Paul. I was really very impressed by his abilities as an actor & wish he would do more films. The man is SO indescribably gorgeous, even at 7 in the morning. (Lucky for me, Dave also likes the film because he thinks Toni Basil looks sexy in fangs.) I hope Thomas doesn't get embarrassed by all this adulation from the women of Alloy, we respect his mind too, honest. (etc.) Hi, folks; First of all, I would like to commend everyone involved in the birthday tape project, but particularly crackers and Ian for working so hard to make it happen. I would also echo the previous comments on the wonderful quality of the music, but would add that my current favorite is Lissu's Pulp Culture. And you say you were getting over bronchitis, Lissu ?!? Incredible. Regarding Keith's recent suggestion... >The contest is for the best "Weird Al" version of a Thomas Dolby song. See >Slarv's example of "Wynkopeeee" for an excellent example. Since nobody seemed to jump right on this -- except for crackers, who seems to have independently come up with the same idea -- I wanted to mention that I think this is an awesome idea. Of course, I would, being a sucker for great rock-and-roll accordian players. Anyway, I have an idea for one, so I'll keep at it and see if it flies. However, I don't expect anything to top "Weird Al Slarvibargowitz"'s recent effort for sheer hilarity. (By the way, I did like the original "Spice Girl" lyric -- it was nicely surreal, and scanned just fine.)
