B-day people,...hang on for me,..I'm currently in sweltering Singapore; my buddy is mixing our "effort" for the tape, but I need to do over the vocals once more before we send it. If I send it supa doopa express next monday, will that we OK? (and please cold somebody pass this on to ian's mail,..i don't have his address with me on this damned laptop!!) Anyway,..not that I could do it as eloquently as Melissa, i'll give you folks a travelogue later if you're up to it,...who knows,...maybe I'll find some strange asian remixes of old dolby songs if I look hard enough while I'm out here!!! take care all, ... hug hug, your jet-lagged friend Lissu ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 18 Sep 1997 17:09:04 -0400 (EDT) From: crackers@hwcn.org Subject: Alloy: UH OH!!! CANADIAN POSTAGE STRIKE So far Ian only has 4 music tapes. Electrix', Erik's, mine, and, of course, his own. A new urgency has presented itself in this issue the Canadian Postal Service is about to go on strike. This means if your tape is "in the mail" when the workers go on strike it will likely remain "in the mail" until the strike is resolved. And if anyone has studied Canadian Labour History you'll know that strikes in Canada can easily last several months. So no more dragging your feet gang! Get those tapes in A.S.A.P. If Canada Post does go on strike (and it's almost certain they will) and your tape isn't sent then you'll have to send it by courier. Any tapes not in Ian's hands before October 1st will likely not be included in the final product. Also, if you wish to download a copy of the J-Card then do it now. I'll be taking it down from my webpage this weekend. http://www.hwcn.org/~ad329/aliens3.gif CRACKERS (Thank you Canada Post from hell!!!!!) - -- Accordionist - Wethifl Musician - Atari 2600 Collector | /\/\ *NEW CrAB URL* http://www.hwcn.org/~ad329/crab.html ***| \^^/ Bira Bira Devotee - FES Member - Samurai Pizza Cats Fan| =\/= ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 18 Sep 1997 17:07:14 -0400 (EDT) From: crackers@hwcn.org Subject: Alloy: UH OH!!! Incidently, thanks to those who sent birthday wishes, and to those wondering about the status of the baby... still not here yet. Folks, be glad you don't have a record company breathing down your neck with suing lawyers waitin' in line. CRACKER's ... are you implying that our final cassette cover IS the one at your site.? I mean, I thought you said you were having the darn things printed (scratching my head). Also, when I downloaded the web site version of the cover I noticed the dimension of the product was made more for a CD than a cassette. I doubt it can fold nicely into a "J-card." Even if I put it through my trusty Adobe Photoshop to size it, will it necessarily come out proportionately right? And now that apparently not everyone is submitting their material as originally planned, does that mean we have to contend with bogus titles on the J-cards? 4 songs????!!!! common people, that's pathetic.! We are talking about Thomas Dolby Robertson, musical pioneer!!!! electrix ------------------------------ End of alloy-digest V2 #191 ***************************
