(with or without the perod :) if it's a contraction, shouldn't it properly be M'r? ) with simple "Alloy" and the alloy-bot address on the back. With all the debate, I've gone back over and tried to redesign multiple times, but I keep coming back to this one. I really like it :) However, I would really really hate to be the designer of a tshirt that divides the list into those who really really like it and those who are disgruntled with the whole idea. So...? I guess I'm one of those people who wants everyone to be happy all the time :) Please tell me you're happy! Ummm, and if we can get a hold of one of those photos, just let me know. I have a scanner here too, in case we can only get a hard copy. Other Dolby notes: My friend Doug picked up "Retrospectacle" about a week ago and has been gushing to me about the merits of "Hyperactive." One of my favorite little stories is that at the time I heard it first, I had no clue what "semaphore" meant, but it sounded really cool, and I used it in Hangman all the time. So I told Doug this last week, and since then, I've encountered that word at LEAST once per day. Weird!?!? Hey Crackers, is Hyperactive taken? Maybe I'll take a shot at that. Doug really would get a kick out of being the voice of the doctor :) *B* Barbara Cohen Cosmochemical Cocktail Mixer, PhD to be ****************************************** I haven't come far enough and don't call me baby. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 2 Aug 1997 04:11:51 -0400 From: "Stephen M. Anyway, here are a few of my thoughts, in no particular order: * I love the "tour city" idea for the back of the shirt! Be sure to include Atlanta, GA for me. However, I seem to recall that the city information was available through the list of subscribers -- if so, we really don't need to make everyone state their city. Rather, we could only collect the exceptions, i.e., those people who want a city other than the one that appears for them on the subscription list. * I also love the "Mr. Dolby rejects science..." caption. It is particularly fun to tweak the nose of one's own profession! :-) So I would be quite happy with the proposal of the photo and this caption on the front, with the city list on the back. With one small caveat... * I just have to say that I did really like Lem Bingley's designs too, and found them much more graphically appealing than the photo. My only dissatisfaction with the photo-based design is that, in the photo, Mr. Dolby seems to be having a REALLY BAD hair day. I know, it was all in fun and for effect. But I wonder, are there any nice photos out there in a similar setting that aren't quite so potentially embarassing? Maybe I'm being a little too sensitive, but I'm just thinking about how I would feel if someone dredged up my sophomore yearbook photo and put it on a t-shirt. But I may be way off-base here, so I'll go with the consensus. And hey, if I'm wearing a bad hair day on my chest, maybe people won't notice the one taking place on my head :-) Cheers, Beth P.S.
