Yep, I was the one who suggested it might be worth looking at IRC as a 
bit more of a generic alternative than the AOL chat rooms. We should 
organise an IRC get-together sometime eh? What say ye guys?

Dear people of Alloy,

Thank you for the kind warm welcome. I, for one, would love for us all to
chat on line, but I've never done this before so I might have to be briefed
first.

I've been so very unlucky when it comes to finding information on Mr. Dolby,
so I have a quick list of things I am wondering about, & maybe the minds of
Alloy can help answer them:

Where did Thomas grow up & go to school? Have there been other musicians in
his family? How did his musical & technical talents first come about, and
what was his main encouragement? Does America really seem all that bizarre to
him now, compared to England? What is his main creative encouragement now,
apart from the world's pressing need for what he does?

I am endlessly curious but I should start with just those questions. If you
think you might know the answers I am ever in your debt!
