Jordan" Subject: Alloy: Dolby Tribute Album Well, since I'm not very focused on work today, I'll offer up some of my suggestions... (By the way, Brian - I'm so glad to see you mention The Bobs. Inspired choice. I love The Bobs.) Flying North - Pet Shop Boys (I could see a hell of a dance track there) Screen Kiss - Joni Mitchell (or Bryan Ferry, but Joni Mitchell's such a great storyteller...) Cruel - Prefab Sprout (I've always thought of it as a really Sproutish tune) Mulu The Rain Forest & Windpower - Kate Bush The Flat Earth & I Live In A Suitcase - Bryan Ferry Cloudburst At Shingle Street - Erasure Whoever offered up Prince/Symbol Boy doing "Science," that was great. Good choice. How about The Bobs doing "Dissidents," "Urges," or "Hyperactive?" Think of all the cool rhythm and funky sound thangs they could do? (If you've ever heard their cover of "Helter Skelter," you know what I mean.) Okay, back to writing cover letters... Cheers, Melissa - ------------------- Melissa R. The vocalist has an amazing voice, a little similar to Eddi Reader's, and I think they've got good potential. I think Tori's a good pick too, she'd need close TMDR direction to make sure it didn't come across too sugary though. :-) stay well, Paul. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 12 Feb 1997 16:18:19 -0800 (PST) From: Brian Clayton Subject: Re: Alloy: Dolby Tribute Album > Mulu The Rain Forest & Windpower - Kate Bush Well, she DID do Lord of the Reedy River, so why not Mulu? > How about The Bobs doing "Dissidents," "Urges," or "Hyperactive?" I did suggest to Richard-Bob once that they should cover TD, though I think he's probably not aware of much beyond "Science." Maybe we could send him a copy of Retrospectacle...
