I wish I had a memory like yours, you remember the costumes and songs from a 1984 concert, and in what order (even if there were some changes, like you said...you've still got it better than most of us could!) Boy I wish I could've seen Thomas live. It's such a drag knowing those days are behind us/him. The "funnest" concert I've therefore ever been to would be either Tom Tom Club (because I never saw Talking Heads, so I'm grateful for the pseudo-close-proximity event), Oingo Boingo (because they were fun -- I'm really glad I saw them before the breakup), or PiL (because I can say that THE Johnny Rotten stared at me for a whole 10 seconds or so). (It kind of scared me, actually.) Anyway, thanks again and please post more if you recall other concerts -- and that goes for anyone that's seen our hero live! Or any other fun stuff, you know we all love hearing about it. On a related note, my husband, Chris, who would subscribe to this list but gets enough mail as it is (I fill him in on the good stuff) was wondering if our fearless leader has released any General MIDI files of previous works or, even more intriguing but far less likely, anything he's currently working on. Things that would be too-cool-for-words are samples of things like the underwater clang from "Cruel," Ed Asner's "Murder" from "My Brain is Like a Sieve," or the sniffing noises from "She Blinded Me with Science." We had fun one evening trying to think of these type of samples. Wouldn't you love to have the throat-clearing or 5 sniffs from "Science?" Oh, and aside from a MIDI file on those clangs from "Cruel" -- does anyone know the background trivia on the source of the sound? Did it/they come from a movie, or did Thomas put someone under water to bang some neat metal thingys together, or what? Of course, anything coming directly from TMDR would be like pennies from heaven.. we all know that. - -- Elaine Linstruth Palmdale, CA (USA) ------------------------------ End of alloy-digest V2 #7 *************************
