Clif wasn't saying that it wasn't possible to caption the images, he was 
saying that he didn't have the time to do it.

But since we're tossing around HTML suggestions -- instead of doing a
separate HTML file for each image/caption, I'd write a CGI script to
generate the pages on the fly.  That way you only have to maintain two
files (the script and the database of images/captions) rather than one
static file for each image...
