"Jane Eyre" was originally set to close Sunday, but Alanis purchased $150,000 in tickets to keep the show running, at least for another week. The tickets will be distributed to the local New York City charities City Kids and Early Stages. Alanis' statement follows: "I avidly support my friend Paul Gordon's ('Jane Eyre' co-creator and composer) creative expressions, as well as deeply respect all of Charlotte Bronte's work and I think the creative team who came together to create and perform this show are TRULY gifted and have a synergy that is clearly evidenced each night. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to contribute by purchasing tickets to be distributed to City Kids and Early Stages and facilitate the sharing of, with those whom accept, what may be one of the most compelling, empowering and heartening coming of age stories of the last two hundred years." One songs, entitled "Excess," will be featured on his album, Blowback. The second song, called "Question," which as a lot more of Alanis singing, is still pending clearance from her label. "Having Alanis is unusual for me," says Tricky, "but what she's doing is bluesy and edgy. It's not what people would expect. It's dark and a little bit scary." There are still some possibilities for us to hear this song. It could be released later by Tricky or Alanis as a b-side. Or Alanis could include it on her album once she clears things up with Maverick. ____________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a message to alanisnews-request@smoe.org with UNSUBSCRIBE as the body of your message. ____________________________________________________________ If you use information provided by this newsletter please credit AlanisNews as the source by linking to our site.
