Orrin Hatch warmly welcomed her along with the senators. Hatch also commented that he spoke with Alanis before the hearing and enjoyed chatting with her and getting her opinion on things. Hopefully by Alanis and other parties involved expressing their concerns they will be able to develop a solution beneficial to all parties involved. Additionally, after posting the news concerning Alanis' speech through this newsletter I decided to post the news on the AlanisTALK message boards run by the Alanis Morissette Network. Soon after my post was deleted. The reason? Your guess is as good as mine. I have uploaded the post so you can take a look at it: http://alanisnews.hypermart.net/003698.html Dennis Sartoros, the owner of AMNet, and two the moderators of "Alanis Morissette Chat" at the AlanisTALK message boards, MortalX and Ironic2000bc, where sent the following message: >Earlier this evening I posted a message to AlanisTALK >about Alanis' speech at the senate. I was the first >person to post about. But I came back later and the >thread was deleted. Please explain why. I have >attached the thread's HTML file. The only apparent >reason I see is that I "plugged" my Alanis newsletter >so people could subscribe to it if they wished. As >anyone can see my intent was sharing the news not >promoting my newsletter. Unless you are trying to run >some sort of monopoly I see no problem. > The rest of the message said that I would make you, the subscribers of my newsletter, aware of deletion of my post after Alanis' speech. I wanted to give them time and opportunity to provide some comments or reasons regarding their actions. None of them replied to my message. But soon after the deletion of my post Dennis did send out a newsletter about the speech and put the speech on his website. So, Alanis fans, I presented you with the facts so take it as you will. What you do now is up to you. Thanks for taking the time to read this and thanks for your continued support. ____________________________________________________________ If you use information provided by this newsletter please credit AlanisNews as the source by linking to our site ____________________________________________________________ Help promote AlanisNews and AMFL by linking to our website http://www.alanismorissettefans.com ____________________________________________________________ Archives from past news are available online via smoe.org at http://www.smoe.org/lists/alanisnews/ ____________________________________________________________ To join the AMFL, the discussion list for Alanis fans, send a message to alanis-request@smoe.org with SUBSCRIBE as the body of your message. ____________________________________________________________ AlanisMorissetteFans.com should be back online by July 2001 ____________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a message to alanisnews-request@smoe.org with UNSUBSCRIBE as the body of your message. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 03 Apr 2001 15:49:36 -0400 From: Dustin Shelby Subject: [AlanisNews] Post Deletion - LAST E-MAIL THIS IS THE LAST E-MAIL YOU WILL RECIEVE REGARDING THIS ISSUE. There was some confusion with my post regarding AlanisTALK. I am only upset because the post was deleted without just cause. I don't care who broke what story. But, people seem to think that I claimed that I broke the news of Alanis appearing at the Sneate. I didn't. I said I posted the speech first but, again, that wasn't the issue. Dennis, owner of AlanisTALK, recently replied to my message about the deletion of my post: "Sorry, but if your post got deleted, there was probably something wrong with it. I trust my moderators and whoever has access to do a good job, and if you have a complaint specifically against one you can always send e-mail and it will be taken under advisement, but my moderators have been outstanding since day 1. If you dont think its fair, then dont come." AMnet does an awesome job at reporting news, I just don't think their tactics are very or business-like, logical or respectful. For example, Dennis posts news on multiple Alanis discussion lists and includes a link to his website. So, what is wrong with me posting news on his discussion board and including a link to my newsletter? I does not make much sense to me. ------------------------------ End of alanisnews-digest V3 #3 ******************************
