I'm just getting into Pink Floyd... So far, I've got Dark Side of the Moon, 
The Wall, Wish You Were Here, and Echoes.

Anyway, my question is, what's their best, next to Dark Side? (Or the Wall, 
if you prefer. <Grin>) I gotta check out more of their stuff. :)

I know that I've been ridiculously busy with work, and rarely home on my
island (and at my computer) with relaxation time; an artist I'm managing has
been recording an album and, fingers crossed, the sessions'll wrap up this
coming week...

as for packages - I've not ordered any in recent years, but it reminds me of
my enthusiastic youth, when I heard advertised (these were the days of
vinyl) some super cool collection of the hits - then the late '60s/early
'70s and I drove my parents crazy to get it; and, once I had the multiple
album boxed set, I was dismayed to find that it contained only muzak
versions of the days top songs; it was a sad lesson for me...

still, I recovered ( :

I've been a fan of Pink Floyd since I can remember my first girlfriend...
she was a craaazy gal... ;)   oops... changing my subject.... look , pal..
you gotta hear Animals and The Final Cut.. those albums will really get you
deep into the Pink Floyd experience... don't forget the important and
history relevant... The Wall album... check out the live in Berlin... Meddle
is pretty good... don't miss this... as a big fan I could tell you the long
discography but I'm really busy right now... hey, I'm listening to Animals
right now...

Oh man, yes, "Animals" is the one...

"You have to be trusted by the people that you lie to, so when the turn their 
backs on you, you get the chance to put the knife in..."

Also, more people should know about "Obscured by Clouds", which is the 
soundtrack music PF did for a French movie called "La Vallee" ("The Valley"). 
More "pop" than most of their stuff, but truly inspired (and just WICKED 
enough) nonetheless.

I could go on ("Piper At The Gates of Dawn" - whee!), but I'll leave well 
enough alone.

Well, it wasn't an infomercial, it was from a piece of junk mail, but I 
bought the Time/Life R&B collection, which consists of a CD for every year 
spanning from 1954 to 1976. They were about $20 per CD, but you were sent one 
a month to keep and pay for or return.

Every one is awesome! I was looking for something with the best of Motown, 
Stax, Philly Soul, and all the soul one-hit wonders (like Bloodstone's 
"Natural High", etc.)

I always throw one of these into the mix at a party - it always gets a 
reaction. Plus, the liner notes are fab, which is a bonus for a trivia head 
like myself.

Glad to see this thing back up and gabbing...let's KEEP it that way!

Of course, Floyd actually had 2 careers, Syd and post-Syd. I haven't gotten 
into the Syd period but know that I need to, and I will. Piper at the Gates 
of Dawn seems to be the one that most authorities recommend.

Given what what you've got, I'll throw in a vote for Animals as well. Love 
it. And the song "Sheep" has some backwards recording, so you'll get private 
orders from Satan. Bonus! ;~)
